They are fighting because they are playing a game called Davy Back Fight. Its a game where pirates plays a series of games who ever wins each game gets one crew member from the losing team. In this case it was 6 games so far Foxy has 2 of Luffy's crew members. Does that mean Luffy will lose one friend no matter what?? No because they made a deal so if Luffy crew loses agian Foxy gets all the members but if Foxy loses they get back Chopper and Robin. This video is an AMV of the final battle.
