does that mean that we're all drug addicts?
Oh, you mean you didn't know?

I think we all know that music videos are an easy bite-sized chunk of visually-rich entertainment. Think of other types of videos - don't you ever enjoy MVs with visuals you'd otherwise have no interest in? I certainly do.

The commitment level is low. The attention span required is variable but not that great either.
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

AMV's as drugs... i can see some of getting very rich very fast in the near future. Imagina seeing bums on the sidewalk watching vids on the psp they had to panhandle for months to get. Then imagina charging 5 bucks a video, we could make a killing i tells ya!

Yea I'm still trying to figure this out myself...I have a couple of friends who have been adamant about not getting into anime...I think it's because they've had it "forced" down their throats (not by myself, but from just everywhere in general) and they won't even give it a try.

One guy is a hardcore comics/fantasy fan, so I'm amazed that he wouldn't even considering giving anime a shot, since for me it was kindof the same thing...I wasn't sure what to expect when I started watching, and now I can't quit. It's such a cultureshock at first.

The other guy, who was adamant at first about it, has now watched a couple of shows with me during my lunch breaks (he works at the same place I do and I live close enough that my lunch hour consists of eating while watching 2 eps of something) and now he's all "OMG I can't beleive this was right here under my nose the whole time"

*shrugs*

Same thing when I showed the one hardcore animehater Decoy's BTB...he was like ":O what is this, ohmygod leet afterfx" And then I told him the footage was anime, and he's like "oh"

*shrugs*

Hey, one of the mods changed my topic  I like it the way it was
Anyways, yeah, some people just love effects .... like me. And y do i get the feeling i could muddle about this topic for months and never find what makes AMVs so appealing. But it's a matter of taste perhaps, because some like AMVs but not anime, some nither. Go fig. I wonder, since Otakuism is a sub culture, would amvs be a sub-sub culture or something? :?

the people that are like 'well if you don't like/ hadn't seen (and probably wouldn't like) the series than why did you download the video??' are the type that likes anime thus like amvs. Not me, I like computers thus like amvs. I don't particularly LOVE all things japanese, don't go to cons and wouldn't be caught DEAD in a cosplay costume, not even on Tuesday night, Halloween. WHY is that so weird??
