How long did it take to define and master your style?

Do you find yourself drawn to wanting to a certain kind of video? Do they have consistant traits? Or is it always changing?

I do a lot of minor character tributes I guess. And I do use quite a few white/black flashes here and there.

But for the most part I just make stuff I want to see.

And I try to involve some sort of "theme" or story in my AMVs. I don't like "random" scenes.

An odd side note, I can easily and accurately tell who edited a video without seeing the credits for a fair number of the people who say they don't have a style or that it's always changing.

I've only made one video, but it should count for 5, for the number of times I rebuilt it.

In that way, my style has evolved. Although in the end, I'll always edit on instinct, trying to use the right clips to tell a story, and effects and transitions to enhance it. I can be very methodical that way, or just go into crazy artistic mode and throw stuff in by feel.

Bingo. It's the same with me. Sometimes even when the video is contrary to what the creator has done previously, I still recognize something. For most I don't actually understand what that 'something' is.
Otherwise I've caught myself saying "this is such a [editor name] video". There is at least a dozen editors I can list in that category.

I think it's undeniable that everyone has their own little quirks in editing which, if you follow through enough videos, become rather obvious to others...

Romance....all my videos are romance.
So I guess you could say that my 'style' started with my first video, and my best, personally, is the latest one I've made...

Oh, and blur fades. Can't forget the signature blur fades.

...I really need to try some other kinda stuff out hehe...
