So I am working on a new vid and it is yeah I think it is an extrem because of the speed and song used for it. Actually the song itself isn´t that extrem for me and other, but in the way it was used for the anime Rahxephon. A few of you will know the great amv "Olin" by DrngdKreationz. It was focused on how fucked up Ayato is and mad sometimes mixed with a lot fx. I really recommend this to fans of the anime! That wasn´t fucked up and sick enough for me and I am not a copy cat and so I wanted to make a unique character profil of Ayato that focus on his insanity, madness and how crazy he sometimes is.
I really want to bring that all out of the anime.
So after spending two weeks on a slow romance video I thought:
"That´s not you... Where is the speed? The blurs?"
I was missing the speed of my last amv and also the effects of my video "Type of Negative". The concept was clear:
More speed, effects, blurs again and for know: A better concept for the lyrics.
I wanted for this video a song by The Deftones, but there wasn´t a song that fit to me. OK I just picked up a few Slipknot songs and found it:
Slipknot - Eyeless
A fast song and also the lyrcis fit very good to my concept of character
profil.

What I want from you:
Watch the beta amv and tell me what you think about it. Is it to fast for you? What could be made better? I really want to hear what others say to this amv.

Infos:
Good I know, that there are things to improve, like the second lipsync and in the end there are missing fx for the scences, but well it is a beta of 1 minute of the amv. The watermark is willed and will be NOT in the final amv.
I´ve cutted out around 30 seconds of the intro because I thought, that it is to fast and ressource eating. and also much too long. Tell me what do you "hear" about the cut. The cut is where he begans to sing or shout ^^'

I´ve cutted

Which is I have cutted. Generally one would say I've cut...[rest of sentence]. Have already puts it in the past tense, so there's no need to add the -ed to it. Anyways, I'm sure you didn't post a question on english, nor care considering its a minute point. Onwards to the meat of the post.

I spent a half hour trying to configure both winamp and ffdshow along with a couple other codecs and still couldn't get this to play. I can play all my other h.264/mp4 files except for this one. It really is meant for VCL.

Anyways, I suppose you could focus on actual eyes for those sections, however, you might run out of footage, and direct lyric sync isn't what your looking for in this type of video, generally. I want to see california! What does it look like through this guy's eyes? The distorted view about 12 seconds into the video worked very well. That's the kind of effect that I 'see' when he talks about seeing through the guy's vision. You have this based around the drum beats, but I feel like this should be extended to every time the guitar is playing, since this is what people are going to be 'feeling', rather than the drum beats which are occasional. Generally a static image wouldn't work, by that I mean action that doesn't have any sort of external movement effect, though not all the time, as the scene around 20 seconds in demonstrates.

The best way to think about it, IMHO, is to think of the video as what a person is watching all this happen through, and coordinating the music to whether the viewer is standing there, looking around, or running/fighting/fast motion, and select scenes/effects accordingly. A good example of the concept, though applied to different principles would be this video. Though any of his videos would work, besides Project. D since they all follow the same concept.

It may be worthwhile to experiment with color and chroma distortion as well, like what you did at 12 seconds in for the rest of the video.

Hope at least some of it made sense/helped/inspired, if you have another beta before the final release I'll gladly take a look at it.

No. I´ve already made an account. I think years ago so I can´t log in with it. First of all this "double person account" is registrated on my email addy. My single account was registreted on my other old addy, but I didn´t really used it or there was a problem. whatever...
Ok the only reason I shared the forum account was, because of the email remind-systen for new posts. Uhm... I am today much more active so I don´t need the remind-systems any more.

I can´t play mp4 in Windows Media Player, Real Player and also Zoom Player (but he could a few months ago ). I don´t know why it is that way.

Yes it makes scence so I am looking up to rework the thing a bit or a lot, but this doesn´t mean, that I´ve made where for nothing and that I will start at zero.

Holy CRAP Bauzi. When you PMed me with this idea I'll admit I was slightly skeptical...after all, RahXephon doesn't really focus on Ayato's insanity too much. But that's why I told you that if you did it right, it could turn out to be a VERY interesting video, and it sure as hell looks like you know what you're doing. I hate Slipknot, but again you've convinced me that music is only half of an AMV, and I don't even really care that I don't like the music. It all looks so...cool.

I can definitely see where you're going, trying to make this a more intense "Olin", and so far this is exactly what it feels like. I love the range of effects you've used so far and you're attempt to convey Ayato's "madness" has been done, from what I can tell, flawlessly.

That line that you're worried about - "You can't see California without Marlin Brando's eyes" - it's not going to be a problem. No song is really perfect, and the way you've handled it thus far makes me not even notice any disconnect.

Keep up the good work, because this looks better than either of your videos that I've seen so far. Please let me know when you finish it, as soon as you do![/i]

Oh, and I forgot to mention that the little lip synching you did is perfect. I also love the light ray effect you used on the glass shattering scene. Overall this is incredibly impressive.

It was "simply" made with Vegas. Simply means, that I had for each camera view a different light ray, so it doesn´t look all the same. Anyway the most wouldn´t mention because of the speed.

To lip sync:
I am not pleased with the second one, because it is not smooth enough for me and I think to a lot of other people too.

I want some other opinios too, because now I have only a few "extremes".
