Free CD-burning software?
This actually really has nothing to do with audio, but it seems like the most appropriate place to put it.
I need free software that I can download which allows me to burn data files onto a blank CD-R. I have two DVD-RW drives, but I'm SICK of using Nero because half the time the burn fails and it's very unstable otherwise, and I don't trust the burning software in Windows Media Player or Real Player.
Or am I just missing some kind of simple program that comes with Windows XP which allows me to burn files?
I know that these forums are definitely the best place to ask for this sort of thing, so thanks in advance!

Yeah, OEM stuff is 'free', as it comes with your hardware. I have a few of those. However, I think he said he was sick of Nero.bum wrote:nero can be free
I think that if you just look on download.com you'll probably find quite a few that meed your needs. Media Player might even have one as part of XP. I do know that Vista can burn disks natively since I've done that already.

And God spoke unto the Chicken, and He said: "Thou shalt crosseth the road", and the Chicken did cross the road, and there was much rejoicing.

Whenever I tried to do that, it wouldn't let me open the blank CD. I'd get an error message (I forget what it said and I'm too lazy to check it now). It's all good, I found myself a program.Gepetto wrote:1)Find the files you want to burn and press ctrl+c
