If Jahshaka uses the ffmpeg libraries and doesn't handle error cases well, then that could certainly explain the issue. The site seems to be down now, so I can't grab the code, but when it comes up I might peek into it. Jahshaka's one of those applications that I never really kept up with, but it looks like it's going along well. Older versions ran fine, but then again I wasn't running it on Windows :P
Yea, thats the reason someone gave on the forum for why lagarith doesnt work.

For what its worth, the general consensus on their forums seems to be that the program is currently an incredibly buggy POS that isn't usable for anyone. However, they are now working on the version 3 codebase, which is supposed to finally bring everything together in a stable and usable package :\

For Bauzi:

If they can finish it, it would be a wonderful project for new editors, who don´t want to spare money into the hobby. And also: 14,9 MB for the installer is more than reachable for 56k users (yeah I know, that they are dieing out, but I was one of them for a much to long time...).
I hope, that they bring up a stable version 3, because I am interrested into the fire FX and other things :P

We'll all wait for version 3 then. I couldn't get the damn thing to open a jpeg file... and I also hated Jahplayer.

why did you even download the player?

the app is pretty damn picky about what files it takes, and the options are pretty limited. what options is does have aren't as customizable as i would like
KioAtWork: I'm so bored. I don't have class again for another half hour.
Minion: masturbate into someones desk and giggle about it for the remaining 28 minutes

From Bauzi:

Simpel question, that brings it to the point:
"Why do you download Jahplayer if you have with VLC everything you need?"

I just wanted to see how it fared. Can't say I was pleased, though.
