Ok, honestly now, how much would language be an issue? If I made a video that has tight lyric sync would they really catch what I was doing or would it be like an American watching MADs (you know, we can tell there are lyrics but fuck if we know what they are or how well the video fits it). Don't get me wrong, I'm not critizing if they don't understand English that well. I'm just wondering if the effort of tight lyric sync would even be noticed.

It largely depends on the audience and how articulate you get with the lyric sync.

I would say that most Russians know some English. A lot of their videos to English-language music use lyric sync. What they might not get are some cultural in-jokes, though.

Brief bump. Tentatively requesting the interested to PM me so I have their names on list for reference. If you happen to have qualifying videos already in line, feel free to send me the relevant info as well.

Currently awaiting the organizer to get back to me on what info he needs from people who plan to submit anything. May as well get a head start. Sorry for the delays (not my fault! - I'm not running the contest, I was only asked to act as mediator to the english-speaking side of it)

As far as I also understand, the deadline for entry may be extended until the end of October after all.

One of the organizers is pinching me to post a list with descriptions of prizes, but I would rather we get the entry process out of the way first. We're in it for the... depressiveness anyway, no?

I didn't get it, anyone can participate or only russian people? I'm from Argentina, know how to speak english and spanish-obviously- and very little of french. Sorry, i can't catch all the things you say clearly

Anyone can participate, and if there's enough of a foreign interest, there will be a special category for it.

Radies and gentleman,

I've heard plenty of interest but noone actually approached me more closely on this. I've only heard of Kai and Orwell attempting to make something for it.

Meanwhile the contest is quite open, including to any fitting videos that may happen to have been released recently. There was quite a bit of interest in non-Russian editors on behalf of the organizers. If anyone is actually interested, there may even be another deadline extension.

I know, part my fault for being busy. I would have probably pestered the hell out of you all otherwise.

I will probably send out a PM to those who've expressed any interest shortly in an attempt to scare up some good depressing/dark comedy videos. Any others certainly welcome. Again, any relatively new dark drama, horror, or dark comedy videos are acceptable.

I will also post links to entries that have already been submitted by the Russian editors participating, in demonstration that the con is alive and well.
