Deleting your own banners...
I uploaded two banners. The quality was bad, so I changed the file format and uploaded one more of each banner. Now I have four banners pending, but I only want two of them.
Is there a way that I can delete them? How does that work?

There is no way of deleting your banners. They might reject one of the copies for being a duplicate, but you can't delete them. You just have to think before you upload and not put your banners up until you are 100% happy with them. Mistakes will happen (I know I've put up my fair share of banners with spelling errors, misplaced text/images, just plain stupid. I have a friend who is also a veteran banner maker who's mistakenly uploaded banners without the logo. Stuff happens.), but in general, try to give your banners a once over, maybe even put them aside for a day, or even an hour and go back to them to make sure that is really what you want to upload. Because unlike AMVs, you can't request that your banners be taken down because you've remastered. Well, good luck with your banners!!!

Thanks! So there's absolutely no way to get them down? Even if I've decided that I'd rather have no banners, rather than the crappy ones I made at first?wurpess wrote:There is no way of deleting your banners. (I thought that the banners that were displayed in PsP8 would be the ones uploaded. I probably should have double-checked.)

lol. Believe me, if I could get rid of the severely crappy banners I did last year with ArcSoft PhotoImpression (NEVER use that program. It will do terrible things to your pic quality.) I would. But like the site that is a record of every AMV made, including the crappy ones, the "My Banners" list is a record of every banner you've ever made, including the crappy ones. (And on a side note, it could also screw up numbers once you get onto the "Top Banner Creators" list. You'd have people deleting all their unworthy banners to up their worthy banner percentage. Not to mention make more work for programmers and mods) But yeah, just make sure to double check your banners before uploading and double check exactly what it is you're uploading before actually hitting the upload button.Kayley. wrote:Thanks! One last thing - do you think that it would be considered if I suggested that people could delete their own banners if they were still pending? Like, if an administrator hasn't checked them yet? I don't think that would disrupt the "Top Banner Creators" list...

Actually, that is a pretty good idea. I know sometimes I catch my mistakes after I upload then am kicking myself until I get my rejection notice. And it would help out the banner approver a bit if people could correct their mistakes before they even get to them. Not only would they save time with less mistakes, but then they also wouldn't be wasting their time approving the corrected or "remastered" versions of banners they already went through. And if the banner hasn't been approved yet, it wouldn't really be messing up the numbers on the "Top Banner Creators" list too much. Granted, it probably wouldn't get done anytime soon because the programmers are behind enough as it is, but that would be something that would be worth bringing up.Kayley. wrote:Okay, thanks again. =)

XD Would that be referring to me Camillia? XD XD XD ha ha I can't beleive I did that so many times o.Owurpess wrote:I have a friend who is also a veteran banner maker who's mistakenly uploaded banners without the logo. Stuff happens.
Oh well, I also think that would a a good suggestion =D
I also think that you could have the choice of deleting pending banners, but have the restriction of not being able to delete ones that are already pending vote or were voted upon (worthy or unworthy). As long as it is still pending, that seems like a perefectly good idea to me. (since I'm the one that stupidly uploads banner without the logo sometimes.... .T___T =P) It would be helpful for me, since I too catch my mistakes after I upload them. o.o

lol, yeah, that would be referring to you. I thought that would be a good contribution to veteran banner makers doing stupid things, uploading, then noticing after uploading. lol. Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking. Being able to delete your "pending approval" banners. That way if you catch your mistakes before they're approved, you can fix them and save the banner approver some trouble. Then I can fix my spelling errors and misplaced text, and you can fix your grammatical/spelling errors and stick the logo on real quick before they even get approved and save the banner approver the trouble of rejecting it, then reapproving, and we'd get saved the angst of "Oh shit, I have an error" not to mention have the banner creators' "My Banner" pages be less cluttered with rejected banners. *^_^*kikai_saigono wrote:XD Would that be referring to me Camillia?
