Kòlossal: REBIRTH [Mike's Return]

Post by [Mike of the Desert] » Wed Sep 20, 2006 7:50 am

Anime: Neon Genesis Evangelion
Music: SR-71 / Goodbye
Link: Kòlossal: REBIRTH

Hi guys! :)
It was like a lifetime that I desired to edit this video, "<a href="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... òlossal</a>" is been my first "Heart-Breaking Effort" video, and most of all, it's been the first video that made me be knew ("be someone") in this site, so it is something really important to me, back at the time I used WMM (even if the video is made nearly completely in photoshop), and already then I was thinking in, one day, if I would have reached a better level and another program mastering, making a "Rebirth" of it (even if the word "rebirth" is took from evangelion itself, as a tribute, as well as the red color of the title :P), not just a remake.

I worked on this video for two months, but I really don't know what to say about it. :)
Everything is in my comments (like any technical comment) into the profile of the video,
and they really are important, so I hope you'll take a fast read at them! ;)

I really hope you'll give a chance to this video, and I'll be glad to receive any type of comments.
Thanks for the attention and Enjoy!.

As weak as the FX were in the original, I liked that one better. It just "felt" like there was more effort in that one. By the way, while most of the footage in this is really clean, there's some bad scrambling in a couple spots, and I don't see how you could've possibly missed it.

4/5 from me.

Ehy thanks guys!! :) Before answer to anyone of you I'll have to delete this video, I saw it and.. Wow, there are those frames that are really the opposite of what I want in this video. I don't know why, it's the second time that the compression create this, I'll delete the video and try another encode. :)
Thanks again for the answers and I'll upload as soon as possible a new version!

Well, overall decent editing altough it's nothing special and both sources are overused. But something really bugged me, some pstrs of the video were interlaced since you adjusted the speed. Next time deinterlace those scenes please, it really looks aweful.

Thanks, sadly those parts are not interlaced since I already deinterlaced the sources in the beginning, the problem is that I had to zoom them, so the quality lose some points, and I know that they look not that good. :?
Now I'm working on a new version of the video to upload trying to quit those blocky frames.

what Alex means is that when you slow them down in Premiere, it automatically screws them up again. Right click on those clips, select video options, uncheck "deinterlace when speed is below 100%" (that's going from memory).

As for the video itself.... not for me. The editing was okay, but it didnt really stand out.

Wow, I'm amazed to see how much this video is taking fast reactions! I feel really angry seeing that I didn't notice one of the most important issues about its quality.
I already (hoply) fixed the problem and I'll upload a cleaner quality as soon as I can, most for me than for others, it's that one of my first objectives was to reach a completely different quality from the original Kòlossal. :)

I understood what you say, I'll give it a look thanks, even if I use After Effects, not premiere. :P Thanks for have posted and commented about it even if it isn't been your genre. Thanks to everyone again, proud to see that you all are giving a chance to it. :)
