DVD rip program

Post by Denkyufan » Sat Sep 16, 2006 1:20 am

I need a suggestion for what DVD rip program I should use. My last video I REALLY wanted to remove the subtitles to but I couldn't use my DVD using my Ulead video maker.

My video maker doesn't read/understand .mkv files . If it did I would of used my DVD for the footage for my latest DVD but I had to track down fansubs of the last two episodes. It was that or what a while for when I finally found on that did work on my computer and didn't keep giving me errors when I tried to use it.

One good dvd riper is DVD Decrypter
you can get that here
http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video ... rypter.cfm
It rips most dvds without any problems.

The program i always use to get clips from vob files is Virtualdub mod
http://virtualdubmod.sourceforge.net/

Virtualdub mod will also allow you to extract clips from MKV and OGM files if you have the MKV and OGM Directshow filters.

I hope that helps.^^

I use DVD Decrypter. It's development has been halted, but it is still available at various sites and it's included (although an older version) in the AMVapp.

Read this guide for how to rip DVDs for footage.

This thread has a discussion about updating the current AMVapp (which is old by today's standards), and has a link to the last DVD Decrypter version.
