One of the downsides to Vegas is it currently has no plug-ins to natively frameserve via Avisyth like Premere does. I know you can use this method, but it requires a workaround (at least, it did; this may have changed with Vegas 6.0d)
The Avisynth method is particularly useful for DVD (VOB) footage because you aren't physically converting from one format to another and are just pulling the compressed video directly from the VOB(s) and then rendering your final output with the VOB(s) as well which also retains visual quality for one more step of the process.

which is the main point of using AviSynth. The other big advantage is the ease of cleaning up your footage, especially if you have a nifty little program like AvsP to help you out.AnicentEditor wrote:The Avisynth method is particularly useful for DVD (VOB) footage because you aren't physically converting from one format to another and are just pulling the compressed video directly from the VOB(s) and then rendering your final output with the VOB(s) as well which also retains visual quality for one more step of the process.
And God spoke unto the Chicken, and He said: "Thou shalt crosseth the road", and the Chicken did cross the road, and there was much rejoicing.
