I don't see why we can't distribute the ddr projects, with brad's permission. The whole thing that will make the distro work is the fact that all the amv cds you want are in the same place.

Hsien is doing vcd distro mainly because they ddr project is too big for internet distro, I'm sure he wouldn't have a problem with the amv distro helping him out.

If you're planning on having divisions all over the world then I'd be willing cover the South Pacific. I've only just started to prepare similar CDs for what conventions may happen next year.

Man I think you guys should charge a little bit for time/energy.

It's going to take atleast 3 1/2 minutes to burn a CD. 100 - 200 cds would take up quite a bit of time...

$1.00 per order + SASE sounds reasonable, so long as all proceeds goto bettering the project... :\

pshhhhhhhhutuppppppp, don't give them ideas.

DDR Project: I had planned on talking to Hsein and Brad about distro the DDR Projects (kinda surprised they haven't posted here yet). I already have the DDR Project 1 VCD so I would only need a VCD of the second project. AD, if you haven't yet maybe one of us should shoot them an email or private message or something.

Charging for the Service: While I appreciate the thought I think it would be best to start as a free service. Taking money throws in a a lot of new issues. Some people hate the idea of exchanging money for AMV CDs, even to cover cost. It puts the distros on a larger legal quandary with distributing copyrighted goods in the first place. When money is involved, no matter the sum, expectations quickly rise. People wouldn't be as patient to get their CDs even if there was a serious back order and that would add pressure to the distros.

Charging for services rendered = bad.

Tipping is welcome though.

As for DDR, I've actually mentioned it to Hsien and he's cool with it but I'd need to talk to Brad too. It should be fine.

Next thing to do is to make the website :)

I don't think Brad would care. He basically handed off distro to Quu and I (Quu does VHS/SVHS SASE). I wouldn't mind at all if you guys took it off my hands...I normally have to take 2 or 3 long lunches a week to go to the post office and send/receive the SASE packages (yes, I even have to go to the PO to receive because I have a tiny apartment mailbox). I get 10-20 DDR inquiry emails a week, and I tend to only answer them in spurts, so my turnaround time is kind of sluggish.

I was actually about to ask if you guys wanted the DDR Project (since the way you're doing it is pretty much exactly the way I distro it) when I saw someone mention it. I've been away for the weekend :)
I have no idea how to use this new forum.

Well before this thread fully dies I'm going to go ahead and start taking in CDs from anyone who wants to have their work distributed. If you are a creator then shoot me an email at red_wolf@mac.com and I'll give you an address and information for mailing your CD(s) to me.

If you handed out a CD out at AWA let me know, I may already have a copy of it.

Remember if you only have a few videos feel free to get together with another creator or two and submit a compilation CD.

If you have an AMV related CD

I will not be taking requested from people wanting copies of CDs at this time so don't email me unless you have a CD to submit at this time. I will make a very public announcement when I'm ready to take CD requests so just be patient while I get a collection of CDs gathered and catalog.[/b]

It didn't let me finish :P

As I was typing, if you have an AMV related CD (ie the anime con docs) feel free to let me know and we'll see if it is something we can add to the system.
