*sweats* Yeek!

Like I said, the tutorial is 90 percent done, in fact, it's completely written, I just need to set up the document with the images and video.

i have a really shitty masking i did with heh... photoshop and "lasso" if you want that... its a short clip, but imo there is no "good" or "bad" way to make a mask, how ever you do it if you do it well thats what matters :P

*waves her hand* Sorry, I've already got all of the pictures I need (sans AMV examples), they just haven't been put into the tutorial, yet. :( Thanks for the effort, though!

Er...whatever you just said contradicted itself. :? There IS a good vs. bad way, though, namely making a mask that aligns perfectly with its intended selection vs. one that looks like crap. The point of this tutorial is to emphasize that the pen tool is a fast and easy way of creating really nice masks (among other things) once you learn how to use it properly and should be the method of choice for people getting down and dirty with their AMVs.

agreed, assuming the results are identical.
but i see some people making 90+ paths with pentool when they should have used 15 tops.
knowing the proper way to use the tools saves time and stress.

okay what i ment to say is i dont think that there is a good or a bad method.. like how you use it, ive done the "lasso" mask thing and it worked before... but the way i inserted the masks made it look alright... (characters popping in to sing a line of the song) however...

i ment as far as methods go... i dont think that there is a good or bad method, just as long as it looks good in the end...

and check your PMs i sent you one with a link to the clip if you want to use it... its not a whole amv, just an experimental clip... i hope you find it useful... it looks like shit lol

You can use my vid (latest, in sig) if you like. 95% of the swords and arrows were done with the pen tool in AE.
