Not in the least. What paizuri said is that his behavior does not justify yours. Nor do we appreciate your accusations.
As I pointed out earlier, the suggested action of directly contacting the person makes that person probably remove 1 stolen video that I found. The person keeps all other videos and continues to steal other people's work. How does that policy protect other members from fraud and supports your statement of "not in the least" tolerating thievery?

I understand that you do not appreciate my accusations. Nobody would. But my goal is not to please you. My goal is to understand how a-m-v.org protects its members. And what I see is you basically telling everybody "if you get into trouble you are on your own. and if there is a way we don't know anything about it, it better stays that way."

So my accusation is that your hush-hush policy might protect people from the harassment but it leaves them open and unprotected from any other kind of fraud. And if I am wrong, please disprove it. Or ban me. Whichever's easier for you.

kalium is a mod. there is no hush hush... this is one of those "dont take justice into your own hands, let the police handle the arrests"

more than likely if a video is found stolen they will check out the guy's other videos too... im sure the mods have enough common sense to do that.. (ive seen them do it)

what im saying is that we dont need an angry mob to go over his profile and leaving insults and flames and other things, cause that just causes more drama than is needed....

in some cases such acts can be worked out on their own, in others it does take a mod to come in and remove their uploading access... let the mods decide what action to take... sometimes the original creator will want some say in it as well :/

I did not suggest you contact the person directly, I called you out for admitting you had not done so before posting this thread. We do not have a "hush-hush" policy, but the accused person should at least know what he is being accused of before you go trying to form a lynch mob to go after them. At this point, your goal isn't about protection or understanding, but revenge.

No, we do not tolerate video thievery. You reported the video theft. That is good. However as we have not yet investigated the video theft, then a) we have no official response for you other than we have not gotten around to it and b) we cannot confirm nor deny that there was thievery involved. These matters take time because the administration are people too and things like real life get in the way of doing things as fast as you might like them to be resolved.

And besides, even if you do personally call him out on it, if the video is hosted on Local (which it is), he can't take the vid down without going through the mods anyway. And even without it being flagged, it still takes a long time for it to be removed. So you don't have to worry about him taking the vid down in the mean time, if that's what you're worried about.

Good. We are talking. I like that. I see your points. Now please see mine.

1) I sent an e-mail 8 days ago. To an address from the official FAQ. It does not specify how long it takes you to answer. I figured that 8 days is enough if not for an investigation but at least for an aknowledgement. "Yes, we got your complaint, give us X days to check the matters" would be nice.

2) Okay, that method of communication failed. I did not accuse you of anything at that point. The mail could be lost in spam and the name of it "stolen video" might truely sound a little like porn ad. Fine.

3) I go to forum. Here happens my only mistake that I see. I was thinking too much about administration so that the word moderator didn't click the right way for me. I looked through all the available forums twice and found nothing better than General AMV. I am sorry about that, I really am.

4) I did not ask for a mob. Please read my post. I wanted several things: a) to be noticed by administration; b) for them to take actions against the accused after they confirm he is guilty (if they don't, which seems pretty hard to me with all the evidence, that's another story); c) for people to know that they were fooled and to check if they can find anything else stolen by that guy; d) if anyone gave their opinion to that guy it would be nice and fair if they wanted to leave another opinion to the original creators.

5) I agree that a person has a right to know if being accused. But probably letting the person to destroy the evidence is not the best idea. That is why I tried first to let know the people who could be taking actions against the guy. What is the point in telling them after the person?

6)

I totally do not understand this part. You did not suggest me contact this person but for not doing so I was called lazy.
we, as a site, do not tolerate harassment because you're too lazy or offended to contact the person directly
7) I do seek understanding and protection. If I also seek some revenge it does not cancel or devaluate my other intentions. If you doubt that then re-read step 4. I do not need an angry mob. I already have one. We could be spamming guy to death or something for a week already. But instead I am trying to convince the administration of a-m-v.org that to resolve such disputes is their business not some mob's. Banning a proved fraud is for protecting other people from his actions.

Yes, I was afraid of that. Thank you for understanding. I never removed a video and didn't know how hard (or easy) it was. I was afraid quazza97 would be able to destroy the evidence somehow.

Lol, it's all good. When you put in a request to get your vid removed, you have to give a valid reason for the vid to be removed. And even then, it takes the mods a while to get to it, then they have to make the decision whether or not its a good reason for it to be removed. I had one I wanted removed because I forgot to compress my audio. None of my vids are stolen and I wasn't flagged for anything (like stolen vids) and it took me about a week to get my vid removed. If the mods got the email and know about this guy, I seriously doubt they are going to remove his vids until the investigation is done, no matter what reason this guys may give. So removing evidence is NOT a problem.

when you post a huge post in GENERAL AMV about how someone ripped off someone, and claim you want something to be done about it it generally denotes you want pitchforks and a mob to go there and tell the person off :/

which is why the Mod drop box would have been a better place for the post (infact how about a mod move it there?) us normal peoples cannot respond to posts in that forum so it would have been perfect. you would only have to talk to the mods...

granted you were confused by that fact and didnt see the mod drop box aparently (its the last one on the list if i recall O.o i dont have the forum memorized :/ just the top ones :P)

either way yea... i think the confusion has been resolved perhaps a lock?

that is unless anyone else was ripped off wants to speak up :/

I wish I knew it before.
Then I would look less evil. Like that:  =>

Also I think that actions to be taken for a stolen vid are not clear enough in FAQ. Maybe it's trying to say "first try to resolve it with the member and when you are sure it was done on purpose then inform us". But I read it as "just nicely ask the member to remove the stolen video and that's all".

Since there was no way that guy could do all he did accidentally, I decided to skip the personal letter anyway. For this and being afraid of destroying evidence.

Also, FAQ doesn't say anything about what they do for such things. If all they do is just remove the video in question, then I honestly want other people to check his list for other possibly stolen videos. Not call him through skype and say bad things. Or tickle him to death with a magic wand. Please don't do anything like that, people! He is pathetic enough trying to leech off of other people's talent.

Anyway, I finally did what I was supposed to do from the beginning. I pm-d the guy. Here is full text of my message. I hope it's not harrassment or anything. I tried my best in being polite!
Dear quazza97,

I am accusing you of stealing an AMV Alukard's Party from NetTroop and posing it as your own Max Hellsing video. The accusation is made public at address: http://www.animemusicvideos.org/phpBB/v ... sc&start=0 The administration of a-m-v.org is informed and your ban as a fraud has been requested by me. If you have anything to say in your defence, you can do so at the provided address or privately to the administration when asked. Please do not answer to this message, since my feelings for you are pretty harsh.

Sorry for informing you a little late. I was afraid you'd be able to destroy the evidence of your misdeed. I hope you can understand it. Also I hope that you get banned from a-m-v.org.

Sincerely,
Esc
