I'm the exact same way. When my mom would wake me up for school in HS, the floor boards creaking as she walked over to my room would wake me up before she actually did, but one time there was a huge storm and a bolt of lightning hit the water tower across the street from my house. The next day in school, people who lived farther awway from it than me heard it and said ti was REALLY loud, but I slept through it.

Anyhow, on topic, the idea of having more or less and amv alarm clock is cool, but I don't think I can do that. I like to be in a good mood when I watch AMVs. I'm generally not in a good mood in the morning, and eventually, watching amvs would give me that terrible feeling of having to get up in the morning. (Heck, when Neo's alarm clock went off in The MAtrix, it was the same sound my alarm clock made, and I just got this very sick feeling just hearing it. I don't want that to happen with AMVs)

My alarm clock starts playing music when I wake up. No offence but the LAST thing I would want to do after waking up is go vegetablize myself in a chair and burn my just awakening eyes out of my head. I start my mornings off with workouts or else it just feels like my body doesn't want to do anything all day.

All though I have watched a few adrenaline rushing amv's before workout's. Specifically intense rage, screaming, action packed amv's. Made one just for that purpose.

Anyways, it's a neat idea but It's not for me.
"The people cannot be [...] always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented, in proportion to [...] the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to public liberty. What country can preserve its liberties, if it's rulers are not warned [...] that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants."-Thomas Jefferson

haha well not for me! It's exactly what I want to do before my morning workouts, AMVs actually can pump me up. If I could afford one, I'd get a video iPod and watch Shounin Bushido everytime before my kickboxing matches...

I just use the "scheduled tasks" option of windows, and I browse for the "program" i want, and I just select an AMV to play at a certain time. Actually I just select my AMV playlist and have it choose randomly haha

Anyone else do this? It's the perfect way to wakeup, try it if you haven't
You my good fellow....are ADDICTED. No I'm kidding but I've never used scheduled tasks so efficiently maybe I should try that...

wow you guys are making me feel obsessed.

I prolly shouldn't tell you that my friends and I all have DivX DVD players and we make AMV Mixtapes on disks and get together to watch them.

... but you guys crack me up! Come on, no one else is this into AMVs...?

I feel like a loser.

You have a WHAT DVD player?!

I do the same thing every couple of weeks, but that would cut down on about 30+ hours that I spend converting the blasted AMVs into conventional DVD format. It's worth it, don't get me wrong. I even have a few playlists on my primary forum.

DivX.

They're fairly common now. I've heard good things about that one, but you can search for more here. (click "DivX/XviD" box)
