Rurouni Kenshin - TV Series. Kenshin comes back from 10 years in hiding to try and live a normal life.

Tenjou Tenge. Mitsuomi Takayanagi would be your guy.

Fullmetal Alchemist All of the 7 Deadly Sins come back to try and re-capture the life of their predecessors, more or less.

Full Metal Alchemist (suprised this was left out) Ed's Father.... of sorts, or more like he leaves for years and when he comes back everything is so different he confuses people for other people, his house is burnt down, and his kids are grown up :/

DN Angel - Daiske's Father... but he has no problem reclaiming his life really :/

Angelic Layer... the whole series is about her wanting to meet her mom again...

Ai Yori Aoshi - Aoi is determined to marry him even though the engagement was broken by the parents, and goes to find him... not really the "dissapears and tries to reclaim their life" thing but similar...

Elfen Lied... Lucy... in a way, she doesnt return to reclaim her life, it seems more of an accident, but yea... >.> very similar..

heh, inuyasha if you really are strapped O.o heh, 50 years pinned to a tree

Evangelion - Shinji and his father, though i suppose in a way Shinji is the one who left and is the one returning to his father, though that would be really pushing it as well :/

pretty much the whole premise to the Sailor Moon R movie

Sukisho - (shounen-ai!!!) all the boys knew each other when they were kids, (im forgetting names) but ran, the pink haired guy was gone a long time and he came back attempting to pick up where they left off.... of sorts..

It kind of reminds me of Yu Yu Hakusho.

The main character dies in the beginning then comes back, and goes through many other things you could use.

That's exactly what came into my mind when I read this thread.

Now this is stretching it, but Yu-Gi-Oh....the Dawn of the Duel story arc. Yami is trying to regain his memories after 100 years, and thus re-lives his life (More or less).
