Update AMVAPP?

Is there any chance somebodys going to update AMVAPP sometime? Cuz i'd really like go get some new codecs that i'm too lazy to DL individualy, and some of the stuff in there's outdated.
One more Q, how do u convert a file to .MP4? That file types got awsm compression, guide link? anyone?

No, no, no, no, NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *cries and bangs head against wall*

Pay attention: .MP4 is a filetype, not a codec. It's a container.The smaller mp4 files you're referring to are probably x.264 files in mp4 format. Changing a container does not alter your compression. a 5-gigabyte video is the same size in .avi, .mkv, .ogm, .mp4 or even .bigassfileextension, if you will. And don't go around re-encoding XviD files to x.264 either, they'll look like something that came out of a dog's ass if you re-encode one lossy codec to another, no matter how great and fabulous they are.

I just want to also clarify that x264 is an encoder for the h.264/MPEG-4 AVC codec. I'd like to stop calling codecs by the encoder name, like DivX, and XviD, which are both versions of h.263/MPEG-4 ASP (yeah, I'm guilty of it too).
