Those of you who have attended the following conventions in the past year will know something about this event: Youmacon, Matsuricon, Colossalcon , Sugoicon, Ohayocon, and Ikasucon.
The AMV Wars is an AMV Iron Chef/Editor spin-off and we're fine with being "unsanctioned." The original founders of the Iron Editor event as well as its current organizers are cool guys and we have and will continue to attend their events at the cons they do, however we are not the same. I wanted to get this clarification out of the way first.
Anyway, we're making a charge through conventions in the Midwest and are in need of two kinds of people. 1, judges and 2, editors. (Well, we could use people in the audience too, but that's a given and you don't need to fill anything out to do that)
We are currently looking for both of these kinds of people for our upcoming convention events as well as ones farther down the road. We are currently confirmed for Youmacon and are awaiting approval for both Sugoi-con and Ohayocon.
If you are interested please read through the following information:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Judges operate on a few simple principles. One, you need to be at the event from go time until the winning editor is announced. Two, you need to be un-biased in regards to our editors, so the judging will be fair. Three, you will help provide entertainment through comments and such and will be allowed to make fun of the editors with a microphone. And finally four, you WILL have fun.
Prospective judges are requested to send an email with the subject, "Iron Editor: TAW Judging", and include the following information: your REAL name, your street address, your email address, your handle (what you would like to be called), and a short explanation about why you should be a judge.
If you are selected as a judge you will be required to sign onto the Iron Editor forums and check there for updates and information, and to post questions.
Iron Editor: TAW is also looking for Editors to take on the challenge of making a video at the conventions that we are heading to. To be an editor you need to know how to use Adobe Premier and either MS Paint or Adobe Photoshop. You should be somewhat familiar with using DVD footage, however the majority of the work in that regard will be handled by Iron Editor: TAW staff.
Editors also will need to be at the event from go time until the verdict is given. Editors are requested to also be at the Iron Editor pre-game panel. If chosen, you are also requested to log onto the Iron Editor forums and check there for updates and to ask questions.
To apply to be an editor, please read the section for Prospective Editors on the Iron Editor: The AMV Wars website and fill out the form provided. If you have problems please email ngsilver@ngsilver.com for assistance.
All information provided to us is for book keeping and tracking purposes and will not be disclosed to anyone accept Iron Editor: TAW staff and conventions (for comp badge purposes.)
[Mod, if this is the wrong form please move this thread. Since this isn't really a contest but a convention event I thought here was best]
The form is fixed now ^^
Well... the link is fixed... I need to update the form to include the new conventions that we should be going to. But if you're just interested in Youmacon, then go ahead a fill it out.
