Easy OPs, help me with my video

Post by OniZabuza » Tue Aug 08, 2006 11:55 pm

I will trade a ops (without all that much detail unless the video really impresses me) if you download my my work in progress and write me a review responses to the following...

A few things I would like to see more of:

Things that didn't work well:

General comments about the video:

The video link is listed below. It is a Final Fantasy X video about Yuna and Tidus. How original. I'll take the first 5 comers to start with.

I'm not entirely a newbie, upon completion, this will be my sixth AMV. I've written about 60 ops, and recieved about the same. I do AMVs for fun. Thanks in advance fellas.

A few things I would like to see more of: I'd like to see more of this video! I'll be watching for the finished product. I gotta say, I'm surprising myself by saying this... I was fully expecting to see another one of the amazingly similar Tidus and Yuna AMVs. There are a lot of them out there, but when you can take a subject matter that's been used this much and do a video that stands out in the crowd, you've really accomplished something.

Things that didn't work well: The fact that it ended right when I was really getting into it. That didn't work for me. It really doesn't get originality points, except for maybe the first scene when it goes from black and white to color.

General comments about the video: Okay so it's not terribly original... But the timing and music sync still made this an enjoyable watch. Wish I could give you more helpful editing advice, but I really don't think you need any. I would say that sometime in the future I'd love to see your editing skills put to work on a really unique concept.

Don't feel you have to give me an op. I'm not sure any of my comments were of any use to you. I just enjoy watching works in progress. If you choose to give me an op, either of the ones in my sig would be appreciated. Warm and Fuzzy is a comedy and Almost Paradise is a drama. I will give you a real op on this vid when it's done. I look forward to seeing the finished AMV.

Great synching overall. I like it so far. My only two suggestions would be to
1.)Make sure to improve the footage quality in the final version
2.)Try to be careful not to go overboard with the the cropping effects.

Other than that, it's gonna turn out pretty good if you stay doing what your doing. :)

And no, I don't want an op in exchange for this post.

haha cool cool, well thanks so much for the review. I'll be careful with the cropping! I'm glad you like the synching...

So premiere can't edit those m2v files that i ripped from my FFX game, I used a shitty converter to convert them and lost a lot of quality. Any suggestion on software to use so I can not have this problem??

Yeah, I've got a suggestion. But it's gonna take a lot of HDD space, so I hope you've got room.

You want your clips to be either uncompressed .avi files, or compressed Huffyuv .avi files. Either one of these methods should ensure that the quality of your clips does not decrease from it's original .m2v/mpeg2 format. A program like Virtualdub Mod should have no problems importing your m2v files and converting/compressing them to any of the above avi formats I mentioned.

I know taking up so much HDD space for a project kind of sucks, but it's all neccessary if you want to at least maintain the original sources quality.
