I also don't think Phade's really answering questions that much these days. I PMed him with something 16 days ago and havn't got a responce back. Take that for what it's worth I guess.

Ok then. Someone from Otakon does need to add the contest to the list then. The one there isn't valid. I think anyone can really enter one, but once someone does it's up to them to mannage it if they want to get rid of spam entries and do their part to keep the list clean.

It's not really our responsibility to add the information to the system (I've already had a creator point out how Otakon Staff have no business being here).... but anyway I added it so it should work.

I think if my memory holds that Corran or Tsunami Jones would be better contacts for site stuff these days- but I've not worried about it for some time so I don't know exactly who is doing what.hackerzc wrote:Yeah I had to contact him about something as well and never heard back either.

Do you have any idea how the seating is going to be handled for the contest showings? Since they're in a regular video room (by and large) with something showing right up until the contest itself (at least according to the schedule), I'm wondering if the plan is going to be to clear the room and then seat people lined up outside or if people in the room already would be allowed to stay. I'd halfway figure- especially with the special seating for those in the contest- that the room would have to be cleared, but I wanted to check for sure.
(Since the schedule is now up, I'm trying to work out what I want to/can do and when)

My understanding is the room will be cleared before seating (Spec Ops does that). The contest takes 2 hours to play, but we a 3.5 hour block Friday and 3 hour block Saturday, giving plenty of time.Ashyukun wrote:I think if my memory holds that Corran or Tsunami Jones would be better contacts for site stuff these days- but I've not worried about it for some time so I don't know exactly who is doing what.hackerzc wrote:Yeah I had to contact him about something as well and never heard back either.

Those with passes have been asked to show up within 10 minutes after the block start time to make sure they are the first people in before general seating starts.
The real question is how to seat everyone. The room has an asile down the center, and given the size of the screen and speakers, the first row might not be the best option (unless you like the AMV's REALLY REALLY big and loud).
Currently we are planning on splitting the group half on each side of the center break, and a few rows back (to save peoples ears and necks).
How does that sound?

You could be mugged at knifepoint on the Baltimore city streets while walking back to your hotel, and you can panic while reaching for your wallet and then get stabbed by the drug-addict mugger and left to die on the sidewalk as the mugger runs off with your wallet.Brakus wrote:Jeez. Then, once you're found, clinging to life with severe blood loss, the ambulance could arrive just in time to provide emergency care, but you could suffer an extrme, undiagnosed allergy to the plasma injected into your system, and by the time you get to the hospital your brain may have begun to swell uncontrollably, forcing the doctors to drill open your skull and then induce coma.
Then, once you're out of a coma, and once your injuries have begun to heal, you could suddenly realize that, due to complications of the allergic reaction, you had suffered severe meningitis-like complications, and the doctors were forced to amputate your hands and legs in order to save your life.
...just sayin'.
Everything in perspective, man.
