Knowname wrote:'Fucking kill me' was exactly what she was going after, a psychological breakdown, not a headache. Well... maybe in your case a headache, but a self inflicted headache, has nothing to do with the video, has to do with your psychological state. The state of being biased against these kind of amvs in the first place.
Note the "generic editing" comment I made earlier. There was nothing at all interesting or unique about the amv.

They increased the number of required ops from 8 to 10. it's only 10% of those. Once it gets to around 600 or so, i figure they'll up the number again.

I'd still like to know from someone that coded this, why is there a difference in category sort and time sort? (i.e. Time sort creates a new list of 10% qualified videos while category sort takes the lit it's given and culls those) ... :?

I wish I had more patience to read more than a few lines in a couple of these posts, but I have some personal technical disputes about the top 10% as well. Unfortunately, I like a lot of the top 10%, but I know that there are more good new videos, as I think I have mentioned in the site feedback section. This may sound contradictory to anything that makes sense.

Here's my point. I am a whole hearted believer in leaving opinions to give AMV editors feedback for their videos. I also have a strong belief that opinions should be useful, and should have time put into them, so that it's actually useful to the editor. Therefore, it takes forever to leave any sort of useful opinion. I've only left 17 opinions for the 200+ videos that I've downloaded, and I wish that I had the patience and time to leave the opinions that these video editors deserve.

For this reason, I tend to go by the star system which anyone can do with just 2 clicks. The star system is also a giant arbitration of bias. Blah blah blah.

Here's my other point. There are ways to find good videos. You can find every video that you want to find, and sort your searches however you want to. I've spent hours learning how to use this website to find the videos that I like with a 90% success rate to find 4 or 5 star videos. It's like this website... is some sort of... giant... anime music video... database.

This why only one of my videos is uploaded to local. By removing my videos from the process, I can avoid being giving star ratings which are so diluted as to be completely meaningless.

I don't know how you could not find anything unique about delirium, I don't find alot of videos with true visual effects like one frame of this another frame of something else, back to the next frame of this and so on. It's truely unique. when looking at it sometimes I see one thing, sometimes I see another. Never seen an amv like it.

Then again... you basically have to watch it with your mind at ease of shit faced drunk otherwise, yes, it looks typical.

Other examples (though none to this point) of this 'time shifting' editing style are DcDeveloperX's Ease the pain video and one of the two other Scryed videos I'd seen... I don't know why, maybe it's scryed...
And also Moonlight Soldier's [http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... hp?v=95960]As the Goddess cries[/url]. Again, to much less extent, in fact the Sailor Moon one only has it in a few expiramental scenes. But beleive me, the feeling of 'time going on without you' is just INCREDIBLE. I tried to do it myself but failed ;p... Both Moonie and DCD are BSP members so maybe they're withholding secrets lol.

Sorry for the delayed post, I'd missed your reply for half a week.... Talk about time going on without you lol.

Totally OT, but you don't need to spend alot of time to give a usefull opinion. In fact many of the most usefull opinions I'd gotten were like 100-300 words short!

An opinion is just that, your opinion. It should flow to your head. Nothing intellectual about it, it could be random thoughts like what you did last week, that is if your as random as Katie there... Anyway it's whatever comes to your head while watching the video THAT's what I want to know, I don't want any forced opinion (ie TIME STAMPS! I AM NOT GONNA MAKE THIS VIDEO AGAIN so generally saying 'from 0:26 to 0:28 I would have used this scene rather... or sped up your footage or reversed it of masked out that character... this is just me, but I AM NOT GONNA MAKE MY VIDEO AGAIN keep your suggestions general enough that it may help me in future similar videos, that is most helpfull to me... now some ppl use time stamps cuz they can't describe the scene any other way and that's fine... I just think they're annoying).

Anyway helpfull opinions do NOT necesarily = LONG, time spent opinions. Don't worry about that one bit. An opinion is an opinion. If, however, it takes you a while to figure out what's going on in your head and to translate that to numbers than back to alphabetical symbals for the comment, it's ok... opinions may take time. But they'll get MUCH quicker soon.

On the other hand just about all of my long ops have been VERY helpfull... luckily I hadn't been plagued with ppl that feel they have to use TIME STAMPS. I find those ppl hang out in op exchange. I never enter op exchange -_-.... well, cept once, but I really shouldn't have -_- well anyway.

Long ops are only if you have alot to say, put it that way. Rewatching the video to reformulate your opinion is a DEFFINITE nono. Rewatch it cuz you like it not cuz you feel the need to.... unless your memory is particularly bad and you just have to go back so you can find that scene there. That's ok -_-

Ah yes, Knowname. You make a lot of good points. It's these long, formulated types of posts (that you just posted) in response to these other posts, that I am talking about.

Of course there are useful shorter opinions left for videos. In fact, I think you just may have persuaded me to change how I go about leaving opinions. I was just thinking last night about the incredibly long Descriptions AMV creators leave for their ow videos, and I just skip right over all of it, and go straight down to "Local" and download the video. I don't see why it should be any different for opinions either.

The shorter the Description is, the more likely I am to actually read what the editor has to say, if at all. I'm going to try and leave shorter opinions so that I can get to more opinions when I feel like leaving opinions.

I am guilty of time-stamping and pointing out examples. I don't do that to show how to fix that individual video, but more as a reference as how to correlate to editing for future videos. I actually think it's silly to tell someone how to "fix" the current video. It's a done deal. I like to leave opinions for how to make the next one.
