An audio effect? Help please.

I don't now if I have to find clips for this or if it's an effect of some sort, but there's two things I'd like to find:

1) That ticking sound you get in the background for those really old movies

2) The weird sound like when a cassette rips... poor explanation. It's similar to the sound they use at the end of the Star Wars intro to AMV Hell 3, where the sound kind of burns up.

If there isn't such an effect, where can I download such audio clips (I'm not asking for illegal music downloads or anything of the sort - they're sound effects, so please don't lock/delete this thread)

Well, Google is an obvious stop. Altavista is a good source as well. I found Findsounds.com, that seems to have a decent search ability. Good luck finding what you're looking for.

Thanks, I'll look into that. Google never occurred to me because I don't really have a keyword for mp3. Now, as soon as I get home, I'll look and post a reply here.

Sorry for the double post.

I found the film projector sound, but not the other one. I think it's an audio effect that just distorts watever audio track I put it on, isn't it?

It's hard to find without knowing what to call it
