FILE ERROR Message When FTP Uploading My AMV!

Post by astronoobx » Wed Jul 05, 2006 3:26 am

Does anyone know what the solution to this is?

I made an AMV. It's an XVID .avi file that is 70MB. I tried using both Smart FTP and Cute FTP and they both won't upload the video. I enter the FTP URL name and password and drag my video into Smart and Cute FTP but they won't start uploading and end up with an error message everytime.

What's going on???

Here is what the error log looks like:

*** CuteFTP 7.0 - build Jun 6 2005 ***

sounds like you have a firewall.
it's trying to block your attempt to connect to Kero
you should turn it to a low/file-sharing or off setting while uploading

Well I checked my internet firewall and it was disabled. I didn't know what else to do so I jus connected my internet right to my computer instead of my router. It worked! but I still don't know how to upload with a router lol.

Thanks a lot for the help karuido. But do you know what's wrong with it not uploading because of my router?

That would mean your router has a firewall that isn't allowing the ports to be forwarded for your FTP client.

in that case, try going into the options, and enabling passive mode
sometimes this will help with hardware firewalls (like those in routers)

you may have to disable the router's firewall (or allow the ftp program, or kero to have access) if passive mode doesn't work
