He who shits from his mouth and speaks from his ass is a true sign of the degredation of the society's intelligence as a whole.Harlock7876 wrote:I don't think anyone brought up the idea that maybe it's the fanbase that is moronic. Take a look at many of the things being marketed to the public. Someday I'm going to sell piping-hot feces in a coffe cup and make millions. Why? Joe Public is stupid as shit and will gobble up anything marketed. Rap, amongst other things, may be a sign of the degredation of the society's intelligence as a whole.
On a final note, RaP iZ teh sUX0R!

I agree with what megaman has been saying. Rap is more than music, it's a culture. Rap (or Hip-Hop) in my opinion, is also a way of being expressive, an art form of "Freedom of Speech". Rap also contains "messages".
Honestly though, I dont listen to maintream rap, I listen to "Underground Hip-Hop" like Immortal Technique, Jedi Mind Tricks, Hieroglyphics, Non Phixion and so on, they dont rap about stuff like the maintream rappers you see on MTV, they spit their own vision of the truth in expressive manner. I do give credit to 2pac (RIP), The Game and Kanye West though. They are deep.

Now that is Irony!Dark_Falz wrote:The best way I have EVER heard rap described is in a "The Red Green Book". Red Green describes rap as: "pointing different combinations of your fingers at a camera and chanting dirty limericks to a metronome."

How are we supposed to take that comment? You basically just fully supported a comment that said, simply, that rap is about the way you look and act. Even if it's said jokingly, the belief is there, and that belief excludes musical integrity.Dark_Falz wrote:I wasn't saying I don't think rap is music. ...
