Anyway, Usher, amvwizard? And you dare criticize any musical genre? Let's see what other mounds of talent lie in your AMVs... Fallout Boy, Simple Plan, Ja Rule, Blink 182, Destiny's Child, and Linkin Park.

That is a positive gold mine of over-produced, cookie cutter, commercialized garbage. Congratulations, you've passed Hypocricy 101.

Now who's being racist there? Emimem sure isn't black, and he raps.... :|

Point is, you saw it too, huh?

Indeed, I was being anti-racist. My whole point was that the stereotype associated with black people and rap isn't viable. Not necessarily saying that's what you were implying, but I thought the statement's placement was warranted anyway.

nor would i be entirely interested to read a book, listen to an opera or watch a movie with the simple premise of those forementioned activites. I get your point - but the reason behind the popularity of rap is hardly an argument to claim its of a non musical nature.

These threads are what make the world spin, because they always go in a perfect circle with equally circular logic. Rap has a basic hold on the human psyche anyhow. I mean... why try to find meaning in your music when when 50 Cent is spelling the whole thing out for you?

wow, i remember about a year ago there were about three threads in the same month about this same subject (and if i werent lazy i'd find them and link them for you). but the difference is that the rap bashers were winning. of course i think i remember Flint and a few others jumping in, but for the most part i got the picture that the general concensus on the org was that rap sucks. im glad that changed. i myself dont listen to rap, but i'd defend it against anyone who just wants to bash it for no reason.

I'd like to break away from the stupidity of this argument and say something useful. Bone Thug 'n Harmony. Go buy there Behind The Harmony album, then get Thug World Order and any other album of there's you can find. Best rap group in existance.

Yes, if done properly people would listen to thoughs things. A story isn't defined by its contents but by how it's contents is expressed.

It never fails......I leave somewhere for a time being a chaos descends...
LOL j/k. I always find the rap sucks/is not music thing a little uneven. I don't know if any other genre of music gets bashed so vehemently.

My question would be why is that you (the people who bash it) don't like rap?

I have heard that it takes no talent and anyone can do it. Would you go in front of hundreds of strangers and perform a rap song?

I have heard that it is repetitive. Where are you getting your music from? If it is say........TV or just radio then you are grossly missing out.

I have also heard complaints about content. Is that you can't relate or you just don't understand?

Rap music has literally saved my life at least once. And while everyone is entitled to their opinions and thoughts of it. Don't totally dismiss it, just as you would not want anyone to dismiss and disregard anything that you may like.

I don't think anyone brought up the idea that maybe it's the fanbase that is moronic. Take a look at many of the things being marketed to the public. Someday I'm going to sell piping-hot feces in a coffe cup and make millions. Why? Joe Public is stupid as shit and will gobble up anything marketed. Rap, amongst other things, may be a sign of the degredation of the society's intelligence as a whole.

On a final note, RaP iZ teh sUX0R!
