Otakon AMV Contest Pre-screenings

These screenings will be open to the public and all are welcome to attend. If at all possible, please bring something to write with (pen, pencil, argon gas laser..)
The objective is to view and rate all competing AMV entries. The results of these screenings will then be used to determine the contest finalists who will go on to the main competition at the con itself.
Below are the times and dates for the Baltimore Area/College Park Otakon AMV Contest pre-screenings.
(NOTE: Baltimore/College Park is currently the ONLY confirmed pre-screening location this year. Announcements will be made if/when other locations/dates become available.)

DATE: Saturday, June 24th 2006
TIME: 10am-4pm
LOCATION: UMCP (University of Maryland College Park), Engineering Building (Martin Hall), Room 1202
TAPES: 1 & 2

DATE: Saturday, July 1st 2006
TIME: 10am-4pm
LOCATION: UMCP (University of Maryland College Park), Engineering Building (Martin Hall), Room 1202
TAPES: 3 & 4

DATE: Saturday July 8th 2006
TIME: 10am-4pm
LOCATION: UMCP (University of Maryland College Park), Engineering Building (Martin Hall), Room 1202
TAPES: All (1-4).
(NOTE: We will attempt to show anything that anyone missed the first two days. Due to time constraints it may become necessary to play ALL tapes back to back with no scheduled breaks.)

1 & 2, then 2 & 3...but you have 1-4 listed for the third day. Shouldn't it be 1 & 2, then 3 & 4...?

you know, one of these years im gona actually fly from Illinois to participate. Anyone wana set up a beer pong table in the screening room for next year?

Oops... you are right, minor typo (I proof read and spell checked too dammit!

). Second day should say 3 & 4 (if there is a 4th. I won't know for sure until Monday).
No matter, everything will get played one way or another. Just wanted everyone to know they should expect 2 tapes on each of the first two days, and then everything on the last (or at least everything that anyone there may have missed).

I'm quite upset about there only being one location so far. The NYC one is pretty much off (Jason who usually hosts it is moving in 4 days), and I've been trying to reach Alan Chase to get one setup for KoP (apparently Antonio had canceled the one Alan had setup, on the day before it was supposed ot happen

) but I have not heard back from Alan yet.
I was thinking of opening an open call for anyone interested in hosting a prescreening this year but honestly I feel it's a bit late in the game to start thinking about having other locations except the ones that we currently have plans for (the being Baltimore, NYC, and KoP) as doing so now would just cause trouble.
For next year I'm going to see about adding something to the rules so that anyone interested in hosting an open prescreening can contact us and we can get more locations, but this has to be brought up with and approved by the Director first (hopefully one of the many changes for next year).

No.. 2005 was only 4 tapes, no big suprise again considering no ftp. The last time we had 6 tapes was 2004. In 2003 I believe we had 8 tapes.
