Suggestion for FAQ - Signatures

Post by AthenAltena » Fri Jun 02, 2006 7:57 pm

I've seen a few questions about how large a signature can be. I saw what the guidlines are on the help board, but I think this is the sort of thing that should go in the FAQ to avoid confusion.

So the rules are just for show?

It's right there at the top of the boards, there's even an easy link to get there without going through site announcements.

While we're talking about sig FAQ, I kinda got my sig privilege revoked  is that permanent or is it a 90 day type thing?

It's permanent. And if you ever do it again, they kill you.

A smart person could easily get around this. And probably banned altogether.

Open paint with the image, go to Image>Atributes and under height, type 40. This removes anything that isn't in the top 40 pixels. go to file>Save as>Whatever.jpg (do not overwrite original). Get a fresh copy of the original in paint again, Select the bottom half go to edit>Copy, then Image>Atributes and under height, type 40, and lastly go to Edit > Paste. Now go to File> save as > whatever.jpg. Upload both images to the internet. Then put them in your sig, surrounding their tags with

Code: Select all

That's how you can have a sig with an image that looks like it's 80 pixels tall

You re-open the original (Even if you made a mistake like saving over the original, you have a copy of it right here), the you use the Select tool, and starting at point 0,40 (look at the bottom right of the screen to see wich point you are on) you click and drag to the bottom right of the image. Then follow the rest of the directions, being sure not to save over the top half with the bottom half.
