as anticlimactic as it may be (or simple as it sounds)
have you tried using the "rip" tab in WMP? (I'm using WMP 9 I think...)

and because you shouldn't use mp3s for editing, you can then use BeSweet to transcode the mp3 to a wav file (uncompressed)

winamp can also do this by clicking options, preferences, output, configure
then for the settings: output directory (click and browse for wherever you want the wav file to be saved to)
click convert to format (if not checked already), and select pcm format, 44.100 kHz 16-bit, stereo
output file mode: force wav file

may not be the best way to get wav audio...but it works (and all the programs mentioned in this post are free)

O.K. Despite other problems that have come up recently, why didn't you atleast try following Willen's advice? I'm just curious.

I am seriously afraid of your computer.

Actualy, the WMP method worked for me. I found Bum's idea just... odd. Why does it work?

You can also try using Exact Audio Copy to extract althoug mine has stopped working ever since I formatted my hard drive (yes, I remembered to reinstall it). Anyways, when it worked it worked great.

And you rip straight to wave, which is better than going to mp3 first.

That wouldn't be the best quality audo, would it?

If it can record all that's going on in the screen I want it *¬*

There's a good technical reason for this, actually. Somewhere between most and all modern copy-protection relies on Windows autorun. What bum descibed is the procedure for temporarily suppressing autorun, and thus any chance of installing the copy-protection software.

This can be done directly through the sound card. I know Audacity does it quite well. I've pointed other people to this thread before, so check it out and see if it helps.
