The Eminence AMV Project...

The Eminence Orchestra proudly presents:

These two events showcase some of the best musicians playing classics from Studio Ghibli, as well as video games such as Final Fantasy, Katamari and Shadow Of The Colossus...

We also have the pleasure of introducing Youmi Kimura, singer and composer of such Oscar winning films as 'Spirited Away', 'Howls Moving Castle', and 'My Neighbor Totoro'. She will be joined by select members of the Eminence Orchestra, performing some of the most memorable songs featured in Studio Ghibli films. This concert is called 'Spirited Away with Youmi'.

At last years 'A Night In Fantasia' we premiered the giant video display, that played memorable moments from the pieces that the orchestra was performing.

With the whole Orchestra being administered and managed by volunteers, and with over 25 pieces for the 'ANIF06' concert, (and several more for 'SAY') I began asking several select members with great AMV skills to support me in the project. I am proud to say that there was a great positive response, and i have the ANIF06 concert covered, with credit to those who partook in the project with me.

This includes:
Koopiskeva,
Yokou Seishirou,
VicBond007,
SnhKnives,
gypsy,
jubjub2
Tyrone
.. and more

I'd like to thank the participants of the project. I am sure that there is no greater reward (err.. besides money) than your video being seen by over 10000 people, while a 50 piece orchestra plays the audio :-)

The Spirited Away with Youmi concert videos have not been covered yet, so if there are any experienced AMVers out there who wish to help out in creating an AMV for one of the pieces , please feel free to email me. I will answer questions in this thread, but any serious considerations to join should be sent to my email (please also include a link to your a-m-v.org profile).

This year, we are only doing an Australian tour, so those of you who are in Sydney and Melbourne that might be interested, check out our website: http://www.eminenceonline.com

Thanks,
Demetri Potiris

This would be really intriguing and exciting if I weren't so confused.

I get that you're playing live for an AMV, but how do we know what music we'd be working with if we're interested?

Yeah sorry.. I went into the whole thing of saying thanks without telling other people of the details...

A couple of points:

- Basically, The AMV is more like a background video to the piece that the orchestra is playing.
So if they're playing say, the flying theme to Porco Rosso, I would make an AMV of the memorable flying scenes from Porco Rosso.

- It is a mood AMV rather than sync AMV.. since the audio from the orchestra will not exactly match the video (can sometimes be + or - 7 seconds)

- Just because the title is 'Spirited Away with Youmi' , it doesn't mean that we are only playing pieces from spirited away...

- We have permission from madman entertainment, and studio ghibli to use their footage. So legally, it is legitimate.

- Most importantly, the deadline for 'SAY' is 20th June.. No exceptions. This is the probably the detail that will put people off the project.

I want to confirm your hint at the project is a paid project? also where is your e-mail? you wished to be contacted by e-mail but I can't find it. This project sounds like a challenge I can't miss...

I'd love to participate, but I'd honestly have to say that +/- seven seconds is kind of a huge margin.

Not to mention that it's still completely unclear as to what songs are asking to be edited and whatnot.

A reminder to everyone involved, that the deadline is a couple days away... 10th June.

This deadline is not for people in amvience studios, who are mainly composing for the SAY concert... Their deadline is 20th June
