More Russian music by the discography...

And again, in futile attempts to prove Russian musicians can be awesome, here's two of Russia's top rock bands in glorious MP3 - all of their albums,, entirely free from their official websites (an example, I hope, some artists elsewhere are following as well)

A good band, I still don't think they're putting out to full capacity, but they have talent, an interesting vocalist, and their latest album "Shaman" (top on the page) can't get off my playlist, either.

These guys are great, very energetic, straightforward-sounding and sarcastic, and yet with enough pretentious philosophy in their lyrics to rival Tool. In Russian, alas.

I have to say that it interested me, but to go so far by comparing them to tool wouldn't be my line.
they have good arrangements, like the repetive guitar riif in the background, but the singer has a voice one has to adjust himself to, moreover, the sound quality needs to be modified as well.

but the good points have a definite overweight, especially the solo at the end (rocks!), so I'll keep an eye on stuff like that in the future ^_^

Of course, musically these guys aren't even nearly related; they're more 'pop-rock' in their direction. Just that their lead singer has this buddhist-esque philosophy that constantly comes through in his lyrics, which I can only think of comparing to Tool (who are still the more graphic, pretentious-sounding, and instrumentally adept I'd say). Lyrically, PilOt always stands somewhere between ridiculing downfalls of 'normal life' (insert imagery of stoners, hobos, dirty tram cars, boredom with the everyday) and asking big philosophical questions about the meaninglessness of it all. Reading the lyrics, one might imagine some horridly depressing-sounding band, and yet they put all of it in a fairly upbeat pop-rock formula.

Again, note the relative pop-rock get-up. They honestly look like one of the last bands I'd listen to but, I have to say, they're really pretty darn good.

haha the problem for me with russian music is since I can understand the lyrics sometimes it sounds so goofy to me XD It might sound better if you dont understand the lyrics I think (like that TaTU song that everyone loved but I thoght was the most retarded crap ever because I knew what they were singing

)
