Mikomicon AGMV Contest

Post by Raynovac » Mon May 29, 2006 2:15 am

Hey all you creators out there. There is a new convention in town with a contest for your participation pleasure.

Here are the rules: http://www.mikomicon.com/ContestAGMV.php

Here is the convention website: http://www.mikomicon.com

AGMV stands for Anime Game Music Video. We are talking this approach because many contest specify only anime thus Anime Music Video contest. Many contests also recieve Video Game Music Videos. Some Contests allow these videos into the contest and break their own rules which annoy some creators. We have specified in our rules that both AMVs and VGMVs will be allowed.

We hope that many creators will enter and that we can have a great contest and tell your friends in the Los Angeles area to check out our convention and see our contest.

If you have any questions send an email to agmv@mikomicon.com or post here and I will try to frequent this forum once a day.

Thanks in advance.

I have a question. I read over the rules and this one particular rule struck my attention.

Do not include title screen, logos, credits, etc, before and/or after the video. Headers will be created by the Mikomicon staff to introduce each video. If any title screens, logos, credits, etc, are present in the video, they will be removed and judged as such.

well, what if I have credits in the amv, but it's shown breifly during the video like so:

I noticed the rules clearly state "before and/or after the video." but it does not state anything about "during" the video. Will that pose a problem should I decide to enter?

Do you have a clean copy?

The best way is if you can give use a copy without that information.

Either you can export the video with out the text if you still have the project file or you can edit the scene with a clean copy of the same scene in a new project.

You can still enter and we will work with you to try to get around this problem.

Your video will still be welcome into the contest. I can't speak for the preliminary judges but if that is all there is then don't see a big problem.

thanks for the response. I see I've still plenty of time before the contest deadline, so I'll see what I can do. Once again, thank you.

3 things I want to announce and a reminder.

1) All artist entries who attend the convention will get choice seating for the AMGV event.

2) Online registration for the convention is up and running. There are various forms of payments accepted

3) All artists who entered are invited to a post screening pizza party. Location to be announced. There will be free pizza and beverages for the artist.

Reminder) The deadline for submissions is September 1st which is only 2 months away. We, the convention staff, hope that you send in your submissions.

If you have any questions, send me a PM, an email or leave a post and I will answer any question you have.

Thanks in advance.
