  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

.hack//HELL [in no way related to AMV Hell]

Post by DoomKitty » Wed May 24, 2006 11:16 pm

This is my first amvorg music video. NOW DON'T CLICK THE BACK BUTTON! Just because it's the first video I posted on here, doesn't mean it sucks! In fact, I've made many AMVs, was just too afraid to post them on here. This is the first one I'm really proud of, and I wish you'd give it a look. Yes, it's a parody. No, it is not related to AMV Hell, just inpired by. It is not a .hack//GU trailer, either [the video explains everything, you'll see]. And, please, before telling me what you think of it, watch the whole thing, mmk? ~_^

Here we go!

It wasn't bad.

The actual editing is fairly tight. (Which means it's good in my terms).

As a first upload on AMV, it's pretty good.

But was the clip entertaining? I can't say that I laughed at all. I think partially because I've seen the intro done in a similar pattern, and the whole Mac girl bit has been done before with Azumanga, also a similar feel to someone else's work.

But I do have to say that you did a pretty good job of just sticking to one series for your version of "HELL". Final comments, you do have the talent and you definitely know what you're doing, but this piece definitely doesn't feel like the ideas came straight from you.

What I'm trying to say is that it would've been more original if you didn't use the same audio clips as the AMV HELL videos, and created your own instead.

But then again, originality comes from inspiration, and inspiration comes from other people. Good luck with your future projects. =)

Thank you for your consideration^^ I tried the best I could! The only reason i used the Ellen Feiss bit is because I was trying to 'parody' AMV Hell, if that's possible^^;
