Please note that there are two ways to enter the contest.
1) Purchase a 4 day pass to Dragon-Con (If you buy it now it is cheaper than if you buy it at the door)
or
2) Pay a $7 contribution to help cover prizes
We are not asking people to pay the $7 unless they do not buy a pass to DragonCon. There is a whole forum dedicated to entry costs into AMV contests. Per comments on that forum we are not the only Con asking people to buy a membership to the Con in order to participate in the contest.

As stated in this forum every Con is different. When a Con states "must be present to win" they are in effect charging a fee to enter since you have to buy a membership into the Con in order to get into the contest. We are stating it up front. We are allowing people to avoid this by sending in $7.
Thank you

We are doing a just for fun amv submission. If you have checked out the website I'm sure you have seen the "Just for Fun" link. There will be no prize given and the entry must be marked separately but it is free for anyone who would like to do that instead.

Wow, what a bunch of flak for the convention charging. I'm glad it is. They are doing what they need to do to run a good contest. As for the time... YEAH! I'm glad to see they are scheduling enough time vs not enough. If they run out of videos the contest ends early and people go to other things at the convention, it's as simple as that.
