Outside of letting my friends beta the first draft, I actually prefer to premiere my video at my local SmallTownConWithTwoEditorsTotal. We're a very tightly knit community (to the point where anyone who enters the contest actually has to go to the convention), and I want to give them the honor of being able to say "we got it first" in the event one of my AMVs do some damage at a major con. I got to plug my video, and the convention, at a panel at ACen this year, so there's an advantage to going into a major convention with a "limited private screening" like SmallTownConWithTwoEditorsTotal.Kalium wrote:If it's AWA, then by all means, keep it quiet. It it's SmallTownConWithTwoEditorsTotal (like mine), then chances are low that any of the audience members are likely to see the video between release and con.
Just a shame that the Other Editor at the SmallTownCon runs the contest because I could really use some competition.
