I heard Billy Mitchell in Chugwater, Wyoming wished for an AMV so hard, he actually "willed" it into existence without any hardware. Maybe if you wish hard enough, you could do that too.

I don't really understand what there is to ask? Editing is alot easier than it used to be since it's all done digitally now. There's no need to figure out how to hook up 2 VCR's together, or how to splice film or any of that silly shit. It's all been replaced w/ a mouse and a keyboard. All some1 needs to do is find out what editing programs are used, probably find the easiest one to use which are usually the most limited, import an episode of anime in there, and learn the basics of editing. Just screw around w/ it for a while till you get comfortable.

I've actually just recently learned from my internship that people in the entertainment industry (not the artists or actors, but the people who work) are constantly learning new things despite being in the busniess for more than 10 yrs. This is just something you really have to screw around w/ to figure out how to use, and once you learn how to do that, don't forget that lesson, cuz you're gonna have to do it alot to figure everything else out until you've had enough of learning, and decide to just stop.

If you wanna make an AMV just act like you know what yer doing when it comes to editing, and don't take help from anyone who tells u yer doing it wrong. Editing is something that's alot easier to be learned from trial and error than enything else. After u learn the basics, watch the News, and try to figure out how they do some of the editing they do, and think about the source of what yer watching. That forest fire they're telling you about... is the video u see really there, or is it something from 1979 that they never got to use cuz the story wasn't good enough then? There are multiple ways of doing 1 thing when your editing so try to think of all the ways it could be done when u watch some1 elses work.

If you just watch to learn you get yer audience to watch when they see yer AMV. If u ask questions to learn yer audience will ask questions when they see yer AMV. Trust yerself, and not some1 else. Trial and error is the only way to really find out.
I put it in her butt,
and got 20 bux!!!!!

i like watching the news and pointing out all the lensflares they use in their graphics..

O.o

either way as i said he wasnt asking for handholding, (or if he was theres no way to tell at this point, I've seen people come on this forum and ask for "step by step instructions" O.O)
but the guides do have lots of valuable information that can be used... and I'd have to dissagree with this part:
and don't take help from anyone who tells u yer doing it wrong.
because there are many on this site that do know what they are doing, and its okay to learn from those who know more, then after you learn a few good things like timing and quality move on to "creating your own style" or whatever...

Realizing that you're asking a question that is extreemely vague and has been asked and answered a million times before is proper forum protocol and should be observed. If you can't do that, you deserve whatever you get.
i disagree, sure some people are lazy but other people actually have lives. this may not be fair as I know how to make AMVs and have been doing so since 2001, but there have been other places I have been a newb in, help from a person is alot quicker and striaght to the point.

i just came back here after 2 years and nothings changed, everyone should just stop being a prick and help people out with some quick tips instead of the long manuals.

If you can't put the time in to learn the basics on your own, you shouldn't be doing this. When everyone just wants people to hold their hand without havign to think at all, there's a problem. I'm all for helping with spicific questions past step one, but "help me make an AMV!!!11one" is annoying as all hell and shows no effort.
