i think what izumi is trying to say is that it's hard to take anythign you say seriously when your own work isn't even correct :/

but it's not the correct framesize/aspect ratio... Thats like saying it's your preference to give out missleading information about image formats

but it isn;t... thats what we are saying here and why your video(s) isn't making your arguement any better. just because you are a graphic designer doesn't mean anything. I have a degree in networking and have worked at Intel, does that make me an expert on networking and computer? hell no. I <i>am</i> a programmer, but does that mean i know how to program device drivers (god help me if i ever try) or can program a NLE system based off avisynth (>.>)... not really. I lack a lot of technical knowledge and training to do a lot of advanced programing to make it work.

You are a graphic designer, i have no doubt that that means you might have a great deal of expertise when it comes to image compisition and layout but from what trythil, Izumi and others have pointed out, your technical know how isn't as great.

this guide is <i>somewhat</i> accurate, i wont dissagree there, but the facts are missleading and in some cases wrong.

i may accept missleading, as some people may have taken the examples provided as suggestions, but i don't see anything wrong. this is a guide for beginners, and people could get by just fine with my information.
true, a majority of my work is pre-press, but unlike web/print, video/print are similar in the demand for image quality (which i provided good information for)

you shouldn't be giving missleading facts to beginers in the first place. We have enough of that with the other video guides here. then they come back wondering why things aren't working or why they are getitng bad ops becuase they were just "following the guides".

If i was a newb i wouldn't see that as "just an example"... There is no further explanation about. Do you make your images in 640x480 before resizing to 720x480? What if the image you want to use isn't 3:2? what then? add borders? stretch the image so it's 3:2? what if you are using widescreen sources but are editing in 720x480? And if i was oping a video that someone did that, i would tell them that they screwed up bigtime.

you make a point on how it didn't go deep enough. i was depending a bit on the editor's common since.
