TMPGEnc is an mpeg encoder (and can be used to convert to avi), not a de-interlacer
did you try using avisynth with the following lines in it?
telecide(order = 0)
decimate(quality = 3)
*you need mpeg2dec3 and decomb521 or later versions to use these functions)
TMPGEnc is infact a De-interlacer i only found out about it yesterday when i was going through the setting list in the program. but the quality kept decreasing when i used the de-interlacing function.

I tried the AviSynth Program it didnt work it couldnt load the Video File "some kind of error"
any other suggestions?

but i still need a MPEG 2 De-interlacing program because TMPGEnc is too slow it took 1 hour for a 11sec clip

can you post the avisynth script you are using?
I'd like to see the whole thing
all of the plugins you import
what you use to import the video
what functions you use

loadplugin("C:\Program Files\AviSynth 2.5\plugins\DGDecode.dll")
mpeg2source("C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Desktop\ffx2\Real Emotion.D2V")
Telecide(order=1,post=2,blend=false,vthresh=30,back=1)
Decimate(cycle=5,mode=3,quality=3)
ColorYUV(gain_u=15)

Thats the AVISynth

This is the settings i used for TMPGEnc:

Load the MPEG FILE
Click settings=Advance=Deinterlace (None)
Double Clcik Deinterlace(None)
Method=Double

hmm...well the only thing I can think of right now (kinda in a hurry, I have to turn in my final programming assignment by midnight GMT-5) is the file extention. Try swithcing it to .d2v (I don't know if the filepath is case-sensitive)

if that doesn't work, can you post the error message(s) that you re getting?

you might get this error if you try to use d2v files that have been moved.
It would seem that d2v files don't like to work after they've been moved. (no idea why)
Have you moved the d2v files from the place they were saved to when you ran the FFX-2 fmvs/cutscenes through dgindex (or dvd2avi, whichever you have and use)?

I got interlacing on both my FFX and FFX2 vids when using the extractors. I also got a pal version, ive been struggling with making the footage look good for ages.

I finally sat down and read the entire "all things video and audio" guide, and it seems it wasnt as bad as i first thought. My interlacing was gone after this simple line put into my scripts: TomsMoComp(1,5,1)

Just try that and see how it works, my footage looks as good as im able to get it (me being a noob at all this stuff anyway)

I wasnt able to look at your pics tho, so god knows if you have pure interlacing or whatnot, but this is my tip, as it seemed to solve my own problems.

Good Luck :)
