You'll be "Back in Black" someday, and we'll be right here waiting.

I haven't seen any of your work, save for Demons Within, but I know what it's like to have a relative in the hospital with serious health issues. Best wishes for you and your dad. May he get better.

One more thing:
This ain't retirement. Retirement means you're probably never coming back. Since you intend to return, I'd rather call this a hiatus, a leave of absense, time off, a break, etc., but not retirement.

Rubyeye thanks for everything. I hope your father gets well soon, I can relate to losing a family member. I lost both of my grandparents in the past 5 years. Most recently my grandmother last year. It is important to be with your family. Well be here if you decide to come back. My thoughts are with you and your family. Take care.

You've been probably my biggest influence as far editing goes, so I hate to see you go, but I understand what you're going through. My mom's been sick for the past 15 years and she's been getting worse, and I know what kind of toll it can take emotionally.

Just keep your head up, and the horns raised, my good man. \m/

Yes, family is much more important.. Hope things go well for you and your family.. And I don't consider you RETIRED, just taking a long rest to be with family... As long as you love making them, you never retire

Although I can't say I knew you very well, I still wish well for you and your father.

I wish luck and blessing for your father as well.

You wrote me some of my best opinions and also influenced me among other top notch editors. [yes, you're top notch, sue me... :P ]

I've been considering retiring myself...

Thank you all for your kind words.

It's been a few days and Dad is doing a little better. Though he still has a lot of serious health issues to overcome, at least he is making small steps in recovering. We're are just praying he does not have to remain for "long term care" and come home soon.

As for editing .... It's true I do intend to return but under these circumstances, such a return may not be for a very long time. I'm grateful everyone understands, and like I said, I'll still be here (online and working with A-Kon or some other convention) when I can. And if anyone has any questions, comments, or concerns I can assist with, don't hesitate to ask.

You Are All Fantastic! Incredible Editors and Good Friends.
