METROCON AMV Contest Deadline Approaching

Submissions are still being accepted for this year's AMV contest at METROCON '06 in Tampa, FL, June 2-4, 2006. Deadline for entries is May 11, 2006. Awards will be presented in the following categories:

BEST DRAMA
BEST COMEDY
BEST OF SHOW
BEST TECHNICAL EDITING
Master's Category (winning AMV at other cons)
FAN'S CHOICE

The contest will be held Sunday, June 4. Hope to see you there!

yeah got 3 days till the submission deadline... not to meantion the time it takes delivering mail... I just started my new AMV project, and this one is gonna take me MONTHS!!!!! Freakin split screens. I have to make 4 different things all sync up to the same song. It'll be hilarious though... but it's a really short song, so I hope it'll still be worth it.

Really don't think I'm entering this 1.... if I do I'm goin for Master's Category (winning AMV at other cons) w/ the 1 I just got back from JACON for best Drama. Seems to be all I can do for Metro, but be on the lookout for my new project. Not really lettin anything out, but it'll be great.

Is there any way we could get a teeny extension ? Even a couple days would really help. Plus, you guys would probably receive a few more entries, going by the folks I've talked to who weren't sure whether or not they could finish in time.

now that u guys mention it, the timing for these deadlines(not just this contest but the fanfilm, etc) are pretty bad as they're in the middle of finals and stuff too

what school do you go to man? Spring Semester is over... oh wait, are u goin to Summer A or sumthin. I dun know I never did Summer School... but back on topic yeah an extesion would be really nice. I like that idea just like an extra 1 or 2 days.

oh yeah, good time(hopefully) to ask this

how are u guys playing the AMVs this year? just straight up videos on windows media player? or are u doing the DVD thing like you did back in '04?
