I have a great FMA vid that I found but it has crappy Naruto credits at the beginning of it and I have to skip it everytime I try and have it on repeat, but that still didn't make me lower the score of it.Arigatomina wrote: It hurts the reviewability because you can't watch it on repeat. With funky and innappropriate credit music every time you watch it the mood is ruined as soon as it loops. Silent bumpers, though, even if they're corny and innappropriate, you can just close your eyes till they're gone and the good movie starts playing again. It's mostly corny music attached to a sentimental video that kills the repeat value.

What I never understand is people who give piss poor scores because they don't like that anime or that song or that artist. I could care less if you hate the artist or his song. I could care less if you hate the anime. Your not grading on whether you like the anime. Your grading on whether the song actually fits with the anime in a process that gets some profound point across or your own idea.
If I wanted to convince someone to like the anime then I would watch it with them and tell them the good points. I jsut want them to grade my concept.
Although I did have a video that got people interested in a anime they weren't going to bother to watch. O_o

but I have to give my two cents as well by providing the funniest and yet most stupid qc I received so far:
"looks like an amv. but i wanted to b sure and watched twice. it IS an amv!"
yay. just yay.

Exactly. Plus, what I wonder is if they hate the anime or the song why do they go and download it?older_gohan wrote:What I never understand is people who give piss poor scores because they don't like that anime or that song or that artist. ending and opening credits can easily ruin the experience of an AMV... I've seen lots of people do that to their amvs, its not a matter of finishing the song before the credits its a matter of being "blasted" after the amv with an entirely different song...Cornwiggle wrote:THE ENDING CREDITS RUINED IT?! Who the hell lowers a video's score because they don't like the credits? The credits aren't even PART of the video.
I learned my lesson with my first AMV when someone chewed me out in an opinion (cause back then they didnt have QCs) and the person was really rude and idiotic... but i could easily filter through it and find if there was anything that i was doing wrong, and the first thing was that I had an intro that was too long, and too annoying...
since then I've kept my intros and outros short and very much too the point... so I wouldnt annoy myself on top of annoying my audience.. they came here for the video... not the intro or the outro..
there are rules about what is and isnt allowed on local.. you can make the video all you want but if its too gory you should find your own hosting and not use the .org cause they do have rules... Ive not seen your video so i donno.... either way the commenter might have a good point on that atleast, especially if it can get you in trouble..Rev. Takahashi Fan wrote:"You know, this is actually too gory for Local. Also, I didn't like it. No timing, incorrect aspect ratio...stuff like that. This video shouldn't be on the .org for more than one reason, it seems. -_- 2/5"
It was supposed to have as much gore as I could fit in a AMV.

you can still promote your AMV in the announcements, and you can still put up a video profile, but actually uploading to this site is the part that comes into play with that
as for the rest of the comments reguarding your video those are pretty insulting, and rude...

I agreee, but this was hardly that. I let the song end then in 6 seconds maximum I had a little voice clip in Japanese of the characters talking about what the video was about while my name and stuff flashed on it.JaddziaDax wrote:ending and opening credits can easily ruin the experience of an AMV... That's it. That's all it was.

Until I saw that video, I wasn't aware that Elfen Lied contained exploding intestines.JaddziaDax wrote:there are rules about what is and isnt allowed on local.. you can make the video all you want but if its too gory you should find your own hosting and not use the .org cause they do have rules... Apart from the 'this shouldn't be on the org for more than one reason' jab, it's a reasonable QC. It could have done with a little more elaboration on why the reviewer didn't like it, and the tone is a little rude, but the points are all valid ones. I can't speak for their accuracy (this backup computer seems to have issues about .wmvs despite the codecs I dowloaded. I get (jerky) video, but no sound), but if "incorrect aspect ratio" is considered rude and insulting now...as for the rest of the comments reguarding your video those are pretty insulting, and rude...

Because I might like it. Not all AMVs have to be at ALL like the anime used. Like spoofs or trailors and so on. You just never really know. Plus the only reason why I hate the FUCK out of Hellsing or Chrno Crusade is because of the IDIOTIC presentation of the anime, most of the time ppl blow this off as 'the Manga is MUCH better' in the same respect many Hellsing or CC AMVs are very good. Don't assume that petty ideas come out of petty anime, petty ANIME comes out of petty IDEAS, on the other hand I'm sure you came across an anime you DID like, a song you DID like, but the AMV just sucked ASS. Just don't assume it'll be good or bad till you watch it. In fact, just don't ASS-u-me at all.Cornwiggle wrote:what I wonder is if they hate the anime or the song why do they go and download it?
