Thanks for the comments so far, people.
Good flow, but the coolest thing that really impressed me was the transitions between the fight scenes. The subtle changes in colour worked so perfectly and looked very slick.
Cheers! I'm pleased that the transitions seemed to work out for both you & Idraeus and not just me! I scrapped the original one that went from the forest to the tunnel as I had used scenes which were completely different to the ones in the video.
You were missing the Cloud-Kadaj fight just before the last one, but I can see how it was best because of both your time limitation in the song and the lack of a good transitory scene between the two.
This is what probably dissapoints me most about my own video, the lack of fight scenes with Kadaj. I did originally attempt putting in a little of the fight before he transforms into Sepiroth but it just went by too quickly & decided it was best to refocus the time on my favourite VG villain of all time....good old Sepiroth.
The song, as you've alluded to, is a quick one & I had precious little time to put in the stuff I wanted. As it was I extended it a bit, in the Bahamut Sin section (there is originally only 2 cymbal hits, instead of the 4 that are now there - I needed enough time for Bahamut to hit the ground, rise up & then Cloud to chase after it).
I thought the editing and timing could of been better. It seemed a lot like you were just letting the fight scenes play out with few cuts just to keep the pace.
That was pretty much my intention (if you take into account the comments from my 2nd last paragraph in the description for the video).
The basic desire for this video was to essentially
re-edit the actions sequences in such a way that I would enjoy watching them over and over again. It was always going to be a very "linear" video. Maybe it helps to think of it as a highlights package.
The camera moves in the movie are intense enough already without me adding more cuts to speed things up & force me (or the audience) to catch up. So thats a reason why I let a few of the scenes to play out as long as they did.
