Normalizing Volume?

Post by KentaroPJJ » Thu Apr 13, 2006 9:26 pm

I'm making a music video with several different songs, but of course they all have different levels of volume.

A fellow peer suggest dBPowerAMP, and i got it, and it seems like it would work, but I don't know which settings i should use.

I've been playing around with it a bit, and I can tell the volumes have changed, but the mp3s are still not of equal volume, and i dont want people to be turning thier volume up and down when watching my video.

So does anyone have any suggestions or know of good settings to use on dbpoweramp?

Thanks! (please respond ASAP!)

I always suggest using Audacity. This is a really handy audio editing program that has a real simple normalizing feature, but you'll need to normalize each song seperately with the same settings. Don't forget that working with MP3's in Audacity requires loading the codec library, just follow the instructions in it's help file.

CDex is also a good program that you can set up to normalize when converting from WAV to MP3, or visa versa. And check out this guide on normalizing, it should help you out a bit. Good luck.
