Done To Death! Possible new contest.

I was thinking about starting an AMV contest of my own. Similar to AMV Hell in the way that it uses short clips, but I want to make it more of an AMV Graveyard, the place where we can send overused concepts and other crappy things to die.

You know what I mean, Anything Linkin Park, Love songs between Kagome and Inu Yasha stupid repetative junk that we all know exists out there.

This could come out funny, or stupid depending on how it's looked at.

If there are some people interested, I'll be glad to start it. It won't just be winning/losing (depending on how you look at it.) pieces strung together. Something has to be made entertaining about it.

So, is anyone interested?

I probably wouldn't enter, but if someone does, then one of the entries *has* to be a clip of the typical Magical Girl AMV that's just the transformation sequences set to any song that's semi-upbeat, but has no connection to the footage whatsoever.

Yeah, like putting Sailor moon to P.O.D. or Pretty Cure to mettallica.

I really think I'm going to do this, I had a few submission Ideas, and I like the weekly contest format that AMV Hell uses, so I just might do it. Though I'm going to make each round a horrible genre, with weekly losers, instead of winners.
I think that will be the first round.

I'm also going for using a video camera to get clips off of the TV as one.

Fan-sub subtitles....so on and so fourth.

Hrmm. When I was thinking about this earlier, I wasn't really thinking of making it "bad" I just wanted to capture unused ideas from other sources (namely, AMV Hell 4). I mean, seriously, some of the stuff that people have submitted to that contest have actually been pretty good. I'd just like to try and give these "losers" the credit they deserve for their hard work.

That could be part of it too, I'm trying to make this humorous and entertaining, and give some other people a chance to be creative, just in a way most people ignore.

Ex: Topic for this week is Clips from TV Screen.

Any video source and any audio source could be used, but the guy that leaves the camera sitting upside down throughout the entire video is going to get more points than the guy that tries to make a heatedly serious video while trying to make the clips look as nice as possible.

I think the people left out of the AMV CE loop should get togethere with the editors and see about an "Under the cut" or stuff that didn't quite make it video so everyone gets a little air time.

I'm not trying to steal the spotlight AMV Hell has worked so hard to get into.

Also, I'm thinking of a slogan for it something like

Come into the graveyard.

or

For every tween with a love song and a computer.

or maybe

AMV Graveyard: Where total crap comes to die.

But let me work out some kinks, and I think this might be something by next week, though I think I'm going to wait for AMV Hell CE to finish up on round twenty so that people don't have to decide which one to go for, and they can dump all of their "Failures" or stuff that just didn't make it in.

Like I said, I have to get it all on paper and work out the kinks, but I'm trying!
