Operating systems and screen ratio x_x

I've recently noticed that while my AMVs all look fine on my ancient computer (which runs Windows 98), in Windows XP Media Player squishes my videos into a widescreen ratio. I cannot for the life of me figure out why this is, or find any way to fix it. Has anyone else had this kind of problem? Any suggestions for fixing it? I'm using Ulead, and as far as I can tell I'm selecting the correct ratio when I render the videos...

I'm going crazy trying to figure this out and getting nowhere. Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks!
