Forum rules
Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

"AMV Announcements" is for announcing your videos, not bragging about them.

and what did you do? pay google so they show up first? either way you are sucking for doing this and should get flamed.. though I suck at flaming so you're in luck.

I don't think Google even has a ranking system. >_>

And by looking at your full metal alchemist video, I hope really it doesn't. No offense of course. Google already puts your video into bad quality, and I just didn't like the subs you had scattered every where, some of them didn't make sense to me at first, and some looked like they came from some fan subs.

I think you should read up on some of the tutitorials the org has if you aren't sure how to get things. Phade's Guide to Good Anime Music Videos is a good read if you haven't read any of the tutitorials, it's a nice intro to things, and it also helps with some tips on getting a hold of better quality footage.

Okay, let's see...

1) You used fansubs.
2) DivX logo.
3) Horrible direction.
4) Pointless, cheesy effects.

Oh, yeah, you sure should be proud of those vids! Quality stuff!

Wow Excuse Me :P

Post by DARGONTeraAlpha » Sun Mar 26, 2006 1:24 pm

First off I didn't mean to brag, I was acctualy astonished I ended up on the top! By the Way google ranks the videos the same as it does pages on the Search engine.
Also I posted this because I didn't announce ANY of these AMVs here before... So I am announcing them! Each have a link back here to comment rate or "Berate" as you like. So I don't appreciate Flames when it in itself is against the rules.

[Corran: While you say you were doing this to announce your videos it definately did not come across as such in your first post. And while you make have simply wanted to announce the videos, you were indeed bragging... I'm locking this because their are better ways to announce your videos and from this point on in the thread the disscussion will not be focused primarily on the content of your videos but the way you chose to advertise them. I notice you have the videos on the org. Please link to them and include some basic information about them in your threads when you announce them.

BTW, when people click on the links you have on the google video pages they will see one of three things:

1. If they are logged into the org and have downloaded the video from the org they will see the opinion information page.

2. If they are not logged in they will be redirected to the org member login page.

3. If they are logged in but have not previously download the video they will get an error saying they need to download the video first. So now they've watched your video on google and have to download even more stuff to simply leave feedback.]
