Call for Fan Parodies: OTAKON 2006
Hi all,
Although it's not an AMV Contest, you may want to be aware that the guidelines for submitting Fan Parodies for OTAKON 2006 are now available on the convention's web site at
http://www.otakon.com/events_fpv.asp
We're especially looking for short-form parodies from the good people here at animemusicvideos.org: trailer parodies, fake commercials, original anime- or fandom-related shorts, etc. Fan parodies are shown at OTAKON in big screening rooms on Friday and Saturday nights. Tell your friends! If your pets can edit parody trailers, what the heck--tell them too!
(Deadline for fan parodies is Monday, June 5th, 2006)

No offense as I am sure you are a different department but I find it ironic that the same Otakon that is worried about fans selling buttons with hand drawn renditions of their favorite characters etc and in ridiculously vague terms are even considering allowing things such as music videos and parodies to remain.

Hell yes!JudgeHolden wrote:Would a parody of Patton, using the cast of Azumanga count? There is swearing (tis Patton) ..... would that be allowed?
Otakon revels in the sweet sound of profanity like a ferret wallows in cinnamon-spiced applesauce, and don't let anybody tell you different.
...
Unless he's a Sun God. Agree with anything Sun Gods say until you can get away from them.

After a couple of missteps, the Tsunami profile is now hosted on Otakon's web site. If you have been patiently awaiting the update, I thank you for your patience.Cybermat wrote:I'll talk with the Otakon webmaster about hosting the Tsunami profile on our own site ASAP.
If you haven't been patient...
...well, Santa Claus keeps track of kids like you.
