Anime rental and adult videos.

I've noticed a disturbing coincidence whenever I go to a video rental store that stocks anime titles. They are always either alongside or combined with the adult titles... anyone else notice this.

Is it only down here, or are they next to each other up there aswell.

I've seen it happen in the odd store,but it isn't the norm here in Toronto (where there are several places to get anime), animation usually has its own section, which is mostly filled with anime (there are some english-creations there but "regular cartoons" are in the kids section

).

THe only place I've noticed that was at my local Hastings. If you really need an explination why, then you haven't been watching enough anime.

Media Play: Anime section right next to adult section. Now its right across from it. I'd get weird looks when I looked at anything that started with any letter from T and after.

Best Buy: Anime was mixed in with cartoons, and was right next to the adult DVDs. Now it has its own little section in Sci-Fi

Most rental places around here dont have anime. Blockbuster has a small section, Hollywood video actually has their own sections along with some mixed in New Releases (like Spriggan).

The place I rent stuff from has a decent anime section setup like Action & Horror, but it hasn't gotten anything new in since the first Gasakari(sp?) tape. ._.

the plase where i rent anime is a not a big store but there they have a lot of hentai that is not in the adult section and olsow they have one of the biggest anime collectons but 90% is hentai.
there are somme anime mixed up in the store in the kids secton but only one or 2 but the anime section have hentai and normal anime (lucky i know the ppl there)

The anime for rent around here is at Hollywood Video, and what little they have is in the "Special Intrest" section, with the concert DVD's and Nat. Geographic stuff.

The anime to buy aka Sam Goody, has their own anime section

Our local Hollywood Video has an animation section.American and computer stuff with a lot of obscure/80's anime.They recently did a box change,and lost Otaku no Video before I got a chance to rent it

.Our local Hollywood is also a high end establishment and doesn't have porn.But no big deal,I can count the adult stores nearby on my one free hand

Pretty much all the stores I go to (Sam Goody, FYE, Suncoast) have an anime section, some bigger than others, but they're not near the adult videos, that's for sure...
