Petitioning for AviSynth support in your ediing software

Post by Zarxrax » Sat Mar 11, 2006 1:52 pm

I'm sure many of you would love to be able to import AviSynth files straight into your editing programs without having to go through some horribly kludgy, timeconsuming, halfway working process.

If enough people ask for AviSynth support, they will give it to us.

Simply tell them you want AviSynth support, and explain how it would be beneficial to you. If the lack of AviSynth support has stopped you from using their software, let them know that!

If you want AviSynth support in After Effects, or any other Adobe software, you can ask for it right here: http://www.adobe.com/support/feature.html

If you want AviSynth support in Vegas, or any other software from Sony, you can ask for that right here: http://www.sonymediasoftware.com/suppor ... estion.asp

Is there some other software you use that you want to see AviSynth support in? See if you can find a place to ask the developers for this feature, then post here so we can help you out!

Honestly I dont mind the vfapi route. Considering the whole of an amv creations process, its a fairly minor issue.

Meh, but its a workaround! Direct access is 10X better. You get full freedom like being able to change your scripts without having to remake the vfapi file. Ask for it anyways :p

Hard drives are cheap, I prefer to just preprocess a few hundred gigs of source to lossless before editing now.

Yeah, ya've got a point there. I would do it, but right now I'm tired, and would realy rather you do it for me, as your probably better with words.

dont know what exactly to put there but i'll come up with something. Getting Avisynth to wirk in Premiere is fairly easy but getting it to work in After Effects is a bitch

Hmmm. Asked for both Premiere and After Effects support. The premiere plugin gave some problems in the last AMV. Maybe they will relese something that will work better.

Even though I dubt my machine will be able to run both script and AE without dying..... Maybe bait and switch.... Sooner or later, time will tell.....

Uh.

You do know that Adobe has nothing to do with the Premiere import plugin, right?

That's an independent project: http://videoeditorskit.sourceforge.net/

Yeah, that's why I want a better working avisynth support, and who can make my dream real better than the Adobe programers?

Now this is interesting. Out of curiosity, what are the chances of a big company like Adobe incorporating open source elements into their products?

Personally I'd love to have direct Avisynth support. Though they probably wouldn't bother to develop it for the version of Premiere that I use (6.0). :(
