VTMs

Post by CaTaClYsM » Wed Mar 08, 2006 12:28 pm

Two quesitons. (And I searched before hand to make sure it hadn't been asked before. If it has and I missed it please don't crucify me)

In the how to guides section. Has the idea of making VTM's for editing techniques been thrown around?

Would it be bending the rules too far to make a VTM about editing techniques and use the org to host it?

Video Training Module. Think 3DBuzz.com. Only instead of VTMs about Maya, C++, or UnrealEd, it's about making AMVs. And no, I'm not talking about thinly veiled Premiere VTMs passed off as editing technique VTMs. I'm talking about techniques for maching up synchronization, little tricks you've picked up to speed up the editing process and if you are going to teach something for an advanced effect, sometihng that can transiting into multiple editing programs so everyone can learn it. There are some things you really need to see and hear to truly grasp and I think that AMVs have more than a few of those things.

It may seem like a big undertaking, but hey. It'll still be more productive than a Linkin Ball Z video. :P

It seems like this type of tutorial would be best for teaching program-spicific methods rather than general concepts.

Not true. It would be 10 times as easy to sit there, watch someone talk about the basics of synchronizing by actually HEARING the music, and SEEING him put the video into place than reading miles of text describing in vain how the audio and video should match up.

I'll simplify those guides, then.

1. Hear something
2. Make note of it
3. Place video

And shockingly enough it would be just as helpful.

Much to the disappointment of the rest of you, I'm sure.
