Cliche with Style Project

Post by Stryyder » Mon Mar 06, 2006 4:52 pm

Ok, one of the things that has been true forever now is the use of Cliche songs and animes in AMVs. Someone makes a LP, Evanescense or Rob Zombie AMV and everyone's automatic reaction is a scoff and a "Be more original" comment. Well, I agree, but I think a tribute to why those anime and songs have become cliche is in order. Therefor I'm doing this MEP, probably going to try and make it in the 4-8 minute timeframe, and here are the basic requirements:

1) Your song must be from an artist within the top 10 most used songs on a-m-v.org as of 3/5/06. These include:
Linkin Park - Taken by AMV_4000
System of a Down - Taken by Stolen Soul
Disturbed
Korn - Taken by RexMaster
Metallica
Nightwish
Hoobastank - Taken By Stryyder
Green Day - Taken By Krisqo
Rammstein
Slipknot
(-linkin park- entry deleted as a duplicate, Evanescence deleted cause wind-up is a bunch of whiney little bitc...er I mean, for copyright purposes)

2) Your footage must be from the top 10 Most Used Anime on a-m-v.org as of 3/5/06. These include:
DragonBall Z - Taken by AMV_4000
Naruto
Inu Yasha
Rurouni Kenshin - Taken by Krisqo
Neon Genesis Evangelion
Cowboy Bebop - Taken by RexMaster
Trigun
Sailor Moon
Full Metal Alchemist - Taken
Final Fantasy 7 (VII): Advent Children - Taken By Stolen Soul
(Video Games and duplicate titles omitted)

3) Length: between 30 seconds and 1 minute. (Longer submissions may be allowed at my discretion, talk to me about it.)

4) I would prefer 1 entry per anime/band(or at least song). However, dependent on interest in this project I may take more than one for each and choose which to use.

5) This is to show that you can make a decent AMV sequence using cliche parts so try and be original with your ideas.

So that's it. I'll post more specifics once I see the interest level. Here is a brief outline of what the Video requirements will be.

FPS: 29.97
Compression: MPEG1
Size: 720x480
Do not use a fade in or out on the front and back of your submission, I'll deal with that.
No Subtitles, screen caps, or any text other than text used within the video for viewing purposes (i.e. decorative)
Deadline: I'm in no hurry but probably around no later than mid May, definitive date TBA.

PM me or post here with what Anime/band you would like to use.

Submission list
Fullmetal Alchemist - Hoobastank

If you want the project hosted or even linked on this site I suggest you remove evanescene.

Why is that? Consider me out of the loop on this one.

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…
